Preston Hot Springs Town-County Library
1. Services to the Public: Knit Wit knitting project this month will be a cowl. Sign up by Thursday evening if you will be needing knitting help on Friday. Knit Wit starts at 1pm on Fridays and will continue to do timed writing and readings. Paper crafts will be doing Window Ornaments on Saturdays from 1pm to 4pm. Matt Pavelich will be at the library Friday February 16, 2024 to do readings from his books and answer questions.
2. Collections: We have finished weeding the Dvd section for the first time. Weeded titles have been added to the sale bin.
3. Technology: The library prints tax forms(not instructions), and completed taxes for your records for free. We have done this for several years since the IRS stopped giving out tax forms.
The Hot Springs Library Foundation is seeking bids for new siding on the library building. They currently have a bid on Metal Tuff Rib siding with all the trim and a Waynescott boarder. The Foundation is thinking white set horizontally on top and a shade of gray for the Waynescott set vertically. The library currently has vinyl siding. The metal has been recommended for durability and longevity. The Waynescott so that damaged pieces can be replaced easier. The metal should resist damage a lot better than the vinyl and is rated for 30 plus years.
The Library Board of Trustees will meet Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at 5 PM.
