ELEMENTARY
Prompt:
→ Write a 60 minute lesson plan for an elementary 4th grade class including a rich mathematical task for area and perimeter that uses the Standard 4.MD.3 from the California Common Core State Standards and include differentiated options for struggling learning, on grade level, and high achievers. Add a depth of knowledge at a level 2 or 3. Include a label and sort activity at the beginning of the lesson. Include cognitively guided instruction practices in the lesson.
Assessment
→ Create an assessment based on this lesson plan that requires students to use the formula for area and perimeter and communicate their understanding of why the formulas work.
Create 3 story problems that are multi-step where students show their work, and also align it with CAASPP. Differentiate the assessment and provide an answer key. Add a depth of knowledge at a level 2 or 3.
Middle School 8th grade
MIDDLE SCHOOL:

→ Write a 60 minute lesson plan for an 8th grade class that uses the NGSS Standard MS-PS3-5. In the lesson, include a collaborative activity about roller coasters where students have to create an experiment that includes identifying variables, tools, measurements, and data analysis to support the hypothesis. Include differentiated options for struggling learning, on grade level, and high achievers.

Create an assessment from this lesson where students have to create a data table that aligns with the CER framework. Also have students demonstrate their experiment and discuss the strengths and weaknesses of their creation.
High School 11th grade
HIGH SCHOOL
Write a lesson plan for 11th grade English based on the standard W.11–12.1a about the Book the Great Gatsby and the theme of the American Dream. Provide 3 different writing prompts for students to pick from. Also include instructions that explain how students can write a claim, support it with evidence, and offer guidance for peer review and include strategies for QTEL and for Tier 1 Instruction for RTI.
