Before & during the above days of march; it is proposed that in India we  start an Indian  March from Kashmir to Kanyakumari ( .. … a  Great Indian  Peace March …!  )for Harmony, No to violence and for a World Without Wars. We expect  w all ell known Indian personalities from  fields  such as  Peace, Harmony & Non-Violence and other activities will come forward to flag-off the March.

The Indian March will coincide with the World March; and will end when the World Team arrives at Bombay; to give them a rousing Welcome in India.  (We can also think of sending our Indian Members with the Permanent Team as well as select few memberswho will accompany them  to the finishing point at Argentina ! )

It is, therefore, requested that you self postulate yourself – to be in the National Co-ordination Committee; if this proposal is interesting to you.  Your active participation is invited.

Please e.mail your name (which will be included in the Central Coordination Committee at National Level) and address with detailed personal information; like DOB/Age, Profession (and any other information you think will fit this project such as experience in social work, initiatives taken, present activities, organizations you are associated with etc); by return mail to reach before 7th September 2008.  We need to hurry a little bit because it would be ideal to declare the above Project to the Indian Public & Mass media on 2nd October 2008 – the Gandhi Jayanthi Day.

We also appeal to you to  forward this Invitation to all your contacts, to as many as possible irrespective of the fact that they are active or not for whatever reasons - Humanists, Associations, Collaborators etc.

Also please indicate as to how many people you have repeated this Message.  In case for whatever reason  you are not able to communicate this Invitation to others among your contacts; you may kindly send us their e.mail address so that we will put across this Message.

Kindly note, during the period (of the Indian March) we can think of  organizing various programmes to make a large number of population   highly aware of the March’s   main theme, such as :

Friendly meetings of Religious Leaders, Spiritual Leaders and/or Gurus; Debates among various Political Leaders; Discourses by Masters on differents themes & subjects; Community Feasts, Harmony Festivals, Dance/Drama/Orchestra/Documentaries with non-violence, harmony, peace and world without war etc., themes. Road shows, Village Marches, Run for Peace & Harmony; Get-together of eminent personalities from the field of Arts & Literature along with Leaders of various positive ongoing struggles and other campaigns could be arranged.   We can also think of bringing in to the limelight many many silent ‘Leaders’ who are working towards betterment of the population in various fields by various means in faraway places or nooks and corners of the country. Campus activities can also be organized with a view to influence the young leadership of  tomorrows.

To facilitate and implement the above – it is suggested that we create a ‘National Co-ordination Committee’. And once again -  you are invited to join this Committee – by self-proposing your Name. We also seek inputs from you like ideas, opinions and suggestions on the above; from the point of view on an  implementation level.

It is irrelevant what is your present status, level or placement now.  Participation would be irrespective of any consideration. The only criteria and qualification needed is your strong commitment to work for the proposed march.

Let us make this march a grand success; as we can create a strong impact by this which will help us in our future activities and beyond 2010…while Silo will speak again with a new proposal and message to the World !

With best wishes and regards as well as peace, force & joy to all in your family,

The Humanist Team*
