This is a way to add an extra layer of security to any application, more specifically for our district your Google Account. This requires a second type of authentication to prove who you are when logging into your google account from anywhere.
Instructions & Tips
Please see specific Google Instructions for setting this up on your DISTRICT account
Tips
Several types of methods
USB key
Cell phone via text message
Specific app on your mobile device
Youtube
Google authenticator (highly recommended)
Best and recommended method is cell phone
Easy to use
You always have it with you
Harder to lose
For your district device ONLY
If you do not want to provide a second step verification each time you login CHECK the box next to “Don’t ask again on this computer” or “Don’t ask again on this device”.
The next time you use/sign in on your district device it will not require the second verification
As this “turns off” the extra security for this device you must ensure you follow these instructions
ALWAYS log out of your device (the screen should be at the login window)
DO NOT leave your device unattended at any time unless it is turned off or at the login window
DO NOT leave passwords visible anywhere ESPECIALLY on or near your device
DO NOT USE this option on any other device except for your district laptop - this negates the extra security if you were to do this on your personal devices
