BRING YOUR PHOTOBOOK (FR)

En partenariat avec Première Lame et la Galerie Satellite (Centre culturel des Chiroux), Liège Photobook Festival veut soutenir les artistes utilisant la photographie. Pour ce faire, le festival organise un appel ouvert à tous.tes. Les participant.e.s peuvent soumettre une publication/édition de leur choix sans contraintes de format, de fond ou de pratique.

Prix

Lors du Gros week-end livre un jury se réunira pour sélectionner des lauréat.e.s et remettre deux prix:

SATELLITE

Pour tout.e.s les auteur.ice.s. Sans exception. Le.a lauréat.e du Prix Satellite bénéficiera d’une exposition à la Galerie Satellite (date à convenir).

PREMIÈRE LAME

Pour les auteur.ice.s lié.e.s à la Fédération Wallonie Bruxelles n’ayant pas encore été édité.e.s (pour ce projet ou autre). Le prix Première Lame bénéficiera d’une publication dans la collection Première Lame aux éditions du Caid en 2025.

Dépôt et inscription

Les auteur.ice.s sont invité.e.s à enregistrer leur édition ou leur maquette gratuitement lors du Gros Week-end Livre pour participer à l’appel. Les publications seront exposées dans l’espace Bring Your Photobook pour les faire découvrir au public et aux professionnels présents pendant tout le week-end.

  1. Aucune inscription préalable n’est possible.
  2. Aucun envoi postal préalable n’est accepté.
  3. Les auteur.ice.s doivent déposer leur maquette/publication à l’accueil entre 11h et 18h le samedi 18 mai 2024 (Rue des croisiers, 1 — 4000 Liège)
  4. Les auteur.ice.s compléteront sur place le formulaire imprimé.

Récupération des publications déposées

Les publications pourront être récupérées:

  1. Soit le dimanche 19 mai entre 18h30 et 19h30 sur place.
  2. Soit à l’accueil de la BIP jusqu’au 1er juin pendant les heures d’ouverture des expositions.

Après cette date, il ne sera plus possible de les récupérer. Les publications ne seront pas renvoyées par les organisateurs. Celles qui n’auront pas été retirées dans les délais fixés ci-dessus deviendront la propriété de l’asbl Open View (organisatrice du Gros Week-end Livre).

Jury

Le jury est composé de professionnels de la photographie, des arts visuels et d’autres pratiques connexes. Le jury se réserve le droit de ne pas attribuer de prix. Tout litige sera tranché par le jury. Ses décisions sont souveraines.

Limitations et conditions d’éligibilité

  1. Les publications doivent être imprimées (pas de livre numérique).
  2. Sont exclus du prix “Première Lame”, les maquettes ou publications qui ont déjà été éditées par une structure autre que l’auteur.ices. Aucune mention d’un éditeur ou co-éditeur ne peut apparaître dans l’ouvrage
  3. Sont exclus du prix “Satelitte”, les candidat.e.s ayant déjà bénéficié d’une exposition solo à la Galerie Satellite.
  4. Le nombre de maquettes ou livres soumis aux prix est limité à 1 par auteur.ice.s toutes catégories de prix confondues.

Tout ouvrage qui ne répond pas à ces critères sera automatiquement disqualifié par le jury.

Assurance et responsabilités

Les organisateurs ne sont pas responsables des dommages faits aux publications ou de leur vol pendant le week-end. Le dépôt et la reprise des maquettes et livres se feront aux frais, risques et périls des candidats. Ceux-ci renoncent, par le seul fait de leur participation au concours, à tout recours contre les organisateurs du fait de sinistres de quelque nature que ce soit pouvant survenir pendant le week-end du festival et durant leur stockage éventuel jusqu’à leur reprise.

Droits de reproduction des maquettes et livres

En cas de sélection comme lauréat, l’artiste s’engage à fournir des visuels libres de droits pour la promotion du prix et du festival dans les publications de Liège Photobook Festival, de BIP et de l’asbl Open View.

BRING YOUR PHOTOBOOK (EN)

In partnership with Première Lame and Galerie Satellite (Centre culturel des Chiroux), Liège Photobook Festival aims to support artists who use photography. The festival is organizing a call for entries open to all. Participants can submit a publication/edition of their choice, with no constraints on format, content or practice.

Awards

During the Big Book Weekend, a panel of judges will select the winners and award two prizes:

SATELLITE

For all authors. Without exception. The winner of the Satellite Prize will benefit from an exhibition at the Galerie Satellite (date to be agreed).

PREMIÈRE LAME

For authors linked to the Fédération Wallonie Bruxelles who have not yet been published (for this project or any other). The Première Lame prize will be published in the Première Lame collection by Editions du Caid in 2025.

Registration

Authors are invited to register their editions or mock-ups free of charge at the Gros Week-end Livre to take part in the call. The publications will be exhibited in the Bring Your Photobook area for the public and professionals to discover throughout the weekend.

  1. No pre-registration will be accepted.
  2. No postal entries will be accepted.
  3. Authors must hand in their artwork/publication at the reception desk between 11am and 6pm on Saturday 18 May 2024 (Rue des croisiers, 1 - 4000 Liège).
  4. Authors will complete the printed form on the spot.

Books return

Publications will be available for return:

  1. Sunday 19 May between 6.30pm and 7.30pm on site.
  2. At BIP reception until 1 June during exhibition opening hours.

After this date, it will no longer be possible to collect them. Publications will not be returned by the organizers. Publications not collected by the above deadline will become the property of Open View asbl (organizers of the Gros Week-end Livre).

Withdrawal of the books

Jury

The jury is made up of professionals in photography, the visual arts and other related fields. The jury reserves the right not to award any prize. Any dispute will be settled by the jury. Its decisions are final.

Restrictions and eligibility criteria:

  1. Publications must be printed (no digital books).
  2. Mock-ups or publications that have already been published by a structure other than the author are not eligible for the "Première Lame" prize. No mention of a publisher or co-publisher may appear in the work.
  3. Candidates who have already had a solo exhibition at the Galerie Satellite are excluded from the "Satellite" prize.
  4. The number of models or books submitted for the prizes is limited to 1 per author, all prize categories combined.

Any book that does not meet these criteria will automatically be dismissed by the jury.

Insurance and responsibilities

The organizers are not responsible for any damages made to the dummies or books or for their theft during the weekend. The submission and withdrawal of the dummies and books are at the expenses and risks of the applicant. By participating in the contest, they give up on any plea against the organizers related to any damage that could happen during the weekend of the festival and during the possible storage of the dummies and books before the taking back.

Reproduction rights of the dummies and books

In case of winning the award, the artist commits to provide copyright-free imagery for the promotion of the award and the festival in the publications of Liège Photobook Festival, BIP and Open View asbl.
