Kelloggsville High School 2023-24 School Improvement Plan

  1. Reading Goal: 65% of all Kelloggsville High School students will meet or exceed their projected growth on the Reading NWEA assessment for Fall 2023 to Spring 2024.

  1. Activity: Implementation of new ELA curriculum with high-level instruction.
  2. Activity: Implementation of common reading strategies across content areas.
  3. Activity: Students will be exposed to grade-level content on a consistent basis.
  4. Activity: KHS Departments will collect data that can be used to drive day-to-day instruction, in order to align teaching and learning with areas that need improvement.

  1. Activity: Students will take the NWEA K-12 Math test to allow for continuous data collection throughout their time at KHS.
  2. Activity: Students will be exposed to grade-level content on a consistent basis.
  3. Activity: KHS will offer tutoring from staff at KHS.
  4. Activity: KHS Departments will collect data that can be used to drive day-to-day instruction, in order to align teaching and learning with areas that need improvement.

  1. EL Goal:  We will see an increase in the number of students exiting the EL program based on their WIDA Scores.
  1. Activity: Implementation of English Language Development classes.
  2. Activity: Implementation of ELD Grad Progress class to increase EL Contact time.
  3. Activity: EL Learning Strategy training for all staff
  4. Activity: EL Math Essentials class for struggling EL students
  5. Activity: Increased EL Support at KHS
  6. Activity: EL Coaching through Kent Intermediate School District

  1. Whole Child Goal (SEL): Kelloggsville High School will reduce the number of suspensions due to behavior.  
  1. Activity: CHAMPS in the classroom
  1. In-house training for staff unfamiliar with CHAMPS
  1. Activity: All KHS students will partake in a universal screener developed by Kelloggsville Public Schools in the Fall of 2022 and again in the Spring of 2023. This screener will identify student areas of need pertaining to social and emotional growth.
