HDSB families, students, staff and community members are invited to an upcoming session of the Director’s Panel Series: Delving into the 2024-2028 Multi-Year Strategic Plan on Monday, Jan. 13 at 6 p.m.

This virtual session will explore the HDSB’s 2024-2028 Multi-Year Strategic Plan and how the six commitments it is built upon work to create inclusive and welcoming learning environments. Join us as we discuss how this plan will be brought to life inside and outside classrooms to support the achievement and well-being of all and guide students toward a bright and successful future.

Registration is not required. Those interested in attending the event can submit a question to the panel before or during the session. Learn more and submit your questions: https://t.co/oDP9HTsKHR

Grade 2 French Immersion

In the Halton District School Board, students can begin French Immersion in Grade 2, where 100% of the instructional day is taught in French. If you are interested in registering your Grade 1 child(ren) for the French Immersion program, further information and resources are available on the HDSB website:

Registration is open and ends January 31 and can be completed through the Google Form. All students who are registered during this time will take part in the French Immersion program. Please note that no registrations will be accepted after the deadline.

To register, families will need to know which French Immersion school your child would attend based on your home address. Use the HDSB’s Find My Local School tool to determine this information. If you have any questions, please contact your current school.

Lunchroom Supervisors

We are looking for Lunchroom supervisors. This is a paid position. If you are interested in working in the school supervising students, please contact the school at palps@hdsb.ca. You must have a valid Vulnerable Sector Screening.

Out of Area Transfer Requests (2025-2026) - Elementary Schools

Students looking to attend a school other than their home school can do so by completing an Out of Area Transfer Request Application. Applications are being accepted from Jan. 6 - Feb. 28, 2025 and can be submitted to your home school.

Please note that not all schools are open for transfer requests. For a list of open schools and to obtain a copy of the application, visit the HDSB website.

Inclement Weather Reminders

Now that the colder weather has arrived, we encourage all families to review the HDSB Inclement Weather Reminders. A printable version of this information is also available. If your child is bused to school, please ensure you know which transportation zone you are located in.

Kiss and Ride/Parking

Students who are within walking distance of the school are strongly encouraged to walk to school. Students who are eligible to ride the bus are encouraged to do so. If you need to drive your child to school, please note that the Kiss and Ride entrance is at the south end of the school. Please drive all the way through the drive lane and ensure your child has what they need to exit the vehicle when you stop. If you need to exit your vehicle to help your child, please park in a parking spot and then exit your vehicle. The north parking lot is for staff only. When exiting the Kiss and Ride, please note that you may not turn left during drop-off and pick-up times. The front lane of the school is for buses only. Please ensure the driveway from the road to the crosswalk is clear so buses may enter the bus lane. Please ensure you are stopping completely at the stop sign as we have students and adults crossing the parking lot.
