Dear Faria Families,

We are excited to start a new year with you!  Next week (August 17-21), we will distribute books and other materials that your child will need to start the school year.  In an effort to ensure the health and safety of our community, the following procedures were developed by our CUSD nurses, in collaboration with the CA Department of Public Health. We kindly ask our community to adhere to these practices to ensure a safe and successful start to the school year!

Please prepare a visor card by printing your child’s FIRST NAME, LAST INITIAL, and room number in large, bold print on a piece of paper.  Please refer to this sample.  

Please note that materials will only be released to the student’s parent/guardian.

• All passengers in the car must wear a face covering. If possible, those who meet the exempt criteria must stay home.
• Please display a sign with the student’s first name, last initial, and room number in the car window.
• If your trunk is unavailable, please leave an empty seat (preferable back passenger side seat) and prepare to open the window for the staff to drop the materials through.
• All occupants of the car must stay in the car.
• No students or families will be allowed in the building or outside their car.
• Please drive through the school drop off lane at your assigned time.
• Please display your photo identification (driver’s license or passport) on the window when the staff gets to the car.  
• Pop your trunk open after identification verification.
• Staff will place the material in the trunk.
• If the trunk is not available, the staff will drop off the materials through the opened window onto the empty seat.
• And finally, drive-away when it is safe to do so.
