If a tree is destroyed,for example by a forest fire, wind or disease, then it will no longer be possible to sell sequestered CO2 attributed to the tree. If it is no longer possible to identify a tree by its tag or to enter a valid measurement for the circumference of the trunk, then the tree record will not be validated.  The platform will only sell sequestered CO2 attributed to validated tree records.  Furthermore, if a user chooses to deregister a tree from the platform, then they will be charged for the cost of any sequestered CO2 attributed to it.  Finally, if fraudulent behaviour is identified, and in the event that the cost of sequestered CO2 is not recovered from the perpetrator, the equivalent amount of sequestered CO2 will be deducted from forthcoming sales.
