4/7 4/8 Start right thigh 4/9 Pulled an all-nighter finishing up right thigh, starting left thigh, detailing torso, etc.
[Sometime between 4/10 - 4/14]** 4/15 Realize arms are too low and spend the wee hours of the AM working on adjustments. Apple needs to take some pointers from IG stories and integrate a pen tool with that camera roll! Edit:// found it. My bad 4/18
4/22 4/23 - 4/24* Realize torso is too long / shoulders are off. Cut left upper arm off at pit, rebuild 4/24 - 4/25* Décolletage surgery. Arms will be the death of me. 5.1 Arm piecing. #doover 5.2 Build neck and lower part of face 5.3 Put studio work on freeze for Frieze 5.4 More late night work on left arm 5.5 Cut off holey right arm and start from scratch 5.7 Right arm detailing 5.9 Start left arm again from stub. Rebuild right arm from stub. Complete detailing of right arm. Cut left arm off. Angle is off. 5.10 Rebuild left arm from stub and detail. 4th time’s a charm. 5.14 Discover hairline crack on left collarbone (where wet clay had been added to dry). Commence clay softening process. Wet & wrapped every inch with newspaper followed by plastic, then rubber-banded everything. 5.25 Successful detailing of arms. Things are finally starting to look good. 5.26 Spend the afternoon/evening doing allover detailing. Start face 5.27 Start right calf rebuilding but right thigh crumbles. Spend the evening on repair work 5.31 Start rebuilding of right calf 6.1 left calf 6.2 Realize left calf is not in correct alignment, cut off for future rework 6.3 Detail buns 6.5 Reconnect left calf, rebuild 6.7 - 6.8* Start head 6.11 Redo left thigh 6.13 Found hairline cracks all over left side. Thigh down, chest and right clavicle to go. 6.15 Left leg surgery; reconnect left calf, fill all cracks, smooth interior. Here’s to a speedy recovery 🤞🏻 6.16 - 6.17* 6.19 Start anew...again. Build left calf, detail patella 7.14* Finetune left calf 7.16 Remove left thigh due to overall inconsistency in slab width. Keep left calf 7.17 Begin left thigh rebuilding 7.18 More rebuilding 7.19 Prep for calf reattachment 7.20 Attach left calf–at the correct angle this time. Enfin! 7.25 Roadtrip to NJ. Bring my entire studio along for the ride 7.26 Build a right forearm in a greenhouse 🌱 7.28 - 7.29* Complete building and detailing of both forearms 7.30 Retry the face again on the road back. 8.3 Decide to build head separately and connect upon closure. 8.6 Unsatisfied with angle and proportion. Even out walls of neck after beheading 8.13 Build and complete lower left calf to ankles 8.14 Move onto right calf 8.15 - 8.16 Complete calves and ankles. 8.16 AM: Start feet PM: Build her first foot (right) 8.18 Brief work on left foot 8.26 Finetune back of left calf, start building left foot 8.27 - 8.29 Ten toes building 8.30 Photoshoot on trampoline for left foot Notes: |
