Ted Harrison Inspired Landscapes
Grade 3 Art: Week 1 (October 26-30)
This project will take 3 weeks to complete!

This week we will be learning about a Canadian artist named Ted Harrison. Here is a short video about the artist.
Materials needed for this week:
- Large white paper
- Pencil & eraser
Activity:
- Begin with a horizon line. That is a line that breaks the picture up into land and sky. It should go all the way across your paper.

- Draw jagged line shapes coming out from the sides of your paper that end in a point. They should be flat on the bottom and point in toward the center of the page. These will be icebergs or hills of snow.

- Draw jagged mountain shapes in the background on top of the horizon line.

- Draw a circle for a moon or sun in your “sky”.

- Make long wavy shapes around the sun or moon that stretch across the sky.

- Draw a simple house with a rectangle door and square windows. If you want to, draw a chimney with a little swirl of smoke into the sky. Erase any “overlapping lines”.

Put your work in a safe place for next week!
