Secretary’s Report: The minutes of the December 6, 2021, Executive Meeting were approved (Camiolo/Gould) as written.
Treasurer’s Report: Treasurer Diane Camiolo reported balances of $2,483.65 in our checking account and $1,523.55 in our Stipend account. The report was filed for audit.
Correspondence: There was no new correspondence to share.
President’s Report:
- Four Pi Sisters attended Convention, and all had a great time.
- The meals were of fair quality.
- Changes need to be made in order to get members to make a full-weekend commitment. DKG has to be relevant to insure participation.
- Bobbie Traveline and Peggy Francis attended the Necrology Service on Sunday. Bobbie wrote and presented a moving tribute to her mother.
- In a random drawing, Pi Chapter won $100 for its Chapter Service Projects. The money is to be divided between two projects, and the recipients will be decided at the Birthday Dinner.
- Convention Take-Aways (ideas from other Chapters):
- President Catherine intends to present the question of relevancy to the membership. If DKG is not relevant, what can we do to make it relevant?
- In this vein, President Catherine would like to propose a committee for working Sisters, and she is willing to lead the group.
- Adopt-a-Sister: Retirees adopt and support working Sisters; At each meeting, the Secret Sister would be revealed and another Secret Sister would take her place.
- Member Spotlight: At each meeting, or in Pieces of Pi, a Pi Sister would be featured, allowing members to get to know each other better.
- It was suggested that we start this program by sharing Bobbie Traveline’s tribute to her mother.
- In planning for the year ahead, a theme might be chosen with meetings and activities revolving around the theme.
First Vice-President’s Report:
- In Amy Fratz’s absence, President Catherine reported that Amy is still looking for a location in which to hold a cookie decorating activity on May 26th. Meanwhile, checks for this focus meeting should be made out to Amy, not Pi Chapter.
Committee Reports:
- Nominations/Installation: DKGNJ President Nora Pollard has accepted President Catherine’s invitation to attend the Birthday Dinner. She will lead in the installation of the new officers.
- Communications: Articles for the next edition of Pieces of Pi should be sent to Jackie Gould no later than May 9th.
- Stipends: The application timeline was not maintained this year. President Catherine will communicate with Lori Bathurst to see if it is possible for recipients to be chosen in the near future so they may be invited to the Birthday Dinner.
- Social/Hospitality: The Telford Inn has been booked for Pi’s Birthday Dinner on
June 2, 2022. Members may gather for socializing at 5:30 p.m. with dinner being served at 6:00 p.m.
- Retirees’ Affairs: The Retirees will meet for lunch at Terra Nova on May 11th at
12:30 p.m. RSVPs are due to Babette Wise by May 9th.

Old Business: There was no old business to discuss.
New Business: A date must be set for the annual planning meeting in June.
