Miami & Beaches Sports Venue Update

University of Miami Football (www. Hurricanesports.com)

The University of Miami football team will return to action on Sept. 23 at 3:30 p.m. against Toledo at Hard Rock Stadium. Miami's Week 2 matchup at Arkansas State on Sept. 9 was canceled due to Hurricane Irma, and its game against in-state rival Florida State – which was previously scheduled for Sept. 16 – has been rescheduled to Oct. 7 in Tallahassee.

 Miami's home matchup against Georgia Tech has also been rescheduled as a result of Hurricane Irma, moving from Thursday, Oct. 12, to Saturday, Oct. 14.

FIU Athletics (www.FIUSports.com)

Due to Hurricane Irma, the FIU athletics department has announced the following schedule changes through Sunday, Sept. 17.

- The volleyball team's FIU Classic, scheduled for Sept. 15-16, has been cancelled.

Miami Dolphins (www.MiamiDolphins.com)

The Miami Dolphins will continue their season with a week two matchup against the Chargers in LA and will return home to Hard Rock Stadium on October 8 vs. Tennessee.

Miami Marlins (www.mlb.com/marlins)

The Marlins’ three-game series starting Friday against the Brewers will be moved from Miami to Milwaukee because of South Florida’s recovery from Hurricane Irma.

The first game at Marlins Park after the hurricane will instead be Monday, when the New York Mets begin a three-game series at Miami.

Marlins officials didn’t want to strain the resources of police and fire rescue crews to work the Brewers games during the recovery.

Following the devastating effects of Hurricane Irma, the upcoming Miami FC home match on Saturday, September 16 against the San Francisco Deltas, has been postponed.

AmericanAirlines Arena (www.AAArena.com)

The Depeche Mode concert scheduled for Friday, September 15th, 2017 will be held as scheduled.  All other events at AmericanAirlines Arena through September 18th, 2017 have been cancelled.

The St. Mary's (Texas) at St. Thomas volleyball match originally scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 7 has been cancelled.

 

The Southeastern at St. Thomas volleyball match originally scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 9 has been postponed.  New game date/time: Friday, October 27, 6 pm

 

The Keiser at St. Thomas volleyball match originally scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 13 has been postponed.  Make up date to be determined.

 

Women's Soccer

The Florida National at St. Thomas women's soccer game originally scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 6 has been postponed. Make up date to be determined.

 

The Faulkner at St. Thomas women's soccer game scheduled for Friday, Sept. 15 has been cancelled.

 

Men's Soccer

The St. Thomas at Nova Southeastern men's soccer game originally scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 7 has been postponed.  Make up date to be determined.

 

The Barry at St. Thomas men's soccer game scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 13 has been postponed. Make up date to be determined.
