NOTES BY VERSE
Note: each ** comment in this document is listed in numerical order according to the verse(s) from this chapter
** Those who are evil do not fear God or turn from their wicked ways; on the contrary, they flatter themselves and boast about their sin
Psalm 36:1-4 NIV
[1] I have a message from God in my heart concerning the sinfulness of the wicked: There is no fear of God before their eyes. [2] In their own eyes they flatter themselves too much to detect or hate their sin. [3] The words of their mouths are wicked and deceitful; they fail to act wisely or do good. [4] Even on their beds they plot evil; they commit themselves to a sinful course and do not reject what is wrong.
** David described the incredible width, height and depth of God's love, faithfulness, righteousness and justice; Paul's verse in Romans was no doubt inspired by David's words
Psalm 36:5-6 NIV
[5] Your love, Lord, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies. [6] Your righteousness is like the highest mountains, your justice like the great deep. You, Lord, preserve both people and animals.
Romans 8:38-39 NIV
[38] For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, [39] neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
** The Lord's provision is not only sufficient to meet our need but is priceless, comforting and overwhelmingly abundant
Psalm 36:7-9 NIV
[7] How priceless is your unfailing love, O God! People take refuge in the shadow of your wings. [8] They feast on the abundance of your house; you give them drink from your river of delights. [9] For with you is the fountain of life; in your light we see light.
Psalm 147:8-9 NIV
[8] He covers the sky with clouds; he supplies the earth with rain and makes grass grow on the hills. [9] He provides food for the cattle and for the young ravens when they call.
Psalm 104:27-28 NIV
[27] All creatures look to you to give them their food at the proper time. [28] When you give it to them, they gather it up; when you open your hand, they are satisfied with good things.
