NOTES BY VERSE
Note: each ** comment in this document is listed in numerical order according to the verse(s) from this chapter
** It is natural to speak of God working in our lives so generations after us will also know and experience His great power and love
Psalm 145:4-7 NIV
[4] One generation commends your works to another; they tell of your mighty acts. [5] They speak of the glorious splendor of your majesty---and I will meditate on your wonderful works. [6] They tell of the power of your awesome works---and I will proclaim your great deeds. [7] They celebrate your abundant goodness and joyfully sing of your righteousness.
Psalm 145:10-13a NIV
[10] All your works praise you, Lord; your faithful people extol you. [11] They tell of the glory of your kingdom and speak of your might, [12] so that all people may know of your mighty acts and the glorious splendor of your kingdom. [13] Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and your dominion endures through all generations.
Psalm 145:1,21 NIV
[1] I will exalt you, my God the King; I will praise your name for ever and ever. [21] My mouth will speak in praise of the Lord. Let every creature praise his holy name for ever and ever.
** Our Lord is not only mighty, but trustworthy, faithful and compassionate; He knows exactly what each one of us is going through and responds accordingly
Psalm 145:8-9 NIV
[8] The Lord is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love. [9] The Lord is good to all; he has compassion on all he has made.
Psalm 145:13b,17 NIV
[13] The Lord is trustworthy in all he promises and faithful in all he does. [17] The Lord is righteous in all his ways and faithful in all he does.
Psalm 145:14-16 NIV
[14] The Lord upholds all who fall and lifts up all who are bowed down. [15] The eyes of all look to you, and you give them their food at the proper time. [16] You open your hand and satisfy the desires of every living thing.
** It is easy for followers of Christ to swing to either end of the pendulum — either emulating God’s loving kindness while ignoring His truth in effort to ‘win over others’ to Christ, or bullishly speaking truth in a non-loving way concerned for their eternal destiny; Christians need to uphold BOTH the Lord’s truth while emulating His loving kindness <D40>
Psalm 145:17-18 NIV
[17] The Lord is righteous in all his ways and faithful in all he does. [18] The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.
Ephesians 4:15-16 NIV
[15] Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ. [16] From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.
** Conditional blessings can include God coming near, fulfilling desires and watching over those who call, fear and love Him
Psalm 145:18-20 NIV
[18] The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. [19] He fulfills the desires of those who fear him; he hears their cry and saves them. [20] The Lord watches over all who love him, but all the wicked he will destroy.
Psalm 145:1-3 NIV
[1] I will exalt you, my God the King; I will praise your name for ever and ever. [2] Every day I will praise you and extol your name for ever and ever. [3] Great is the Lord and most worthy of praise; his greatness no one can fathom.
** God is as much concerned about every one of His redeemed people, as though there were only that one in the whole universe! <S179>
Psalm 145:18 NIV
[18] The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.
Psalm 56:8 NIV
[8] Record my misery; list my tears on your scroll---are they not in your record?
Psalm 34:15 NIV
[15] The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are attentive to their cry
