Procedures for Potential Board Members

This form is to be used when a person is interested in becoming a Community Link Board or committee member.  Have them fill it out and give it to one of the members of the Board Development Committee.

The potential board member should receive a copy of the Director’s Commitment Letter and the Conflict of Interest Letter.

The committee will review the form, check references, interview the individual and give a recommendation to the Board on the individual.

The possible recommendations would be:

  1. Offer the person a position on the Community Link Board of Directors
  2. Offer the person a position on the Community Link Board committees
  3. Offer the person a position on the Community Link Advisory Board
  4. Develop the person as a project volunteer
  5. Develop the person as a project leader
  6. Do not allow the person to be associated with Community Link

These recommendations are not to be given lightly.  The actions and behavior of every person associated with Community Link reflects directly on our ability to care for people.

We also need to keep in mind “What would Jesus do?”  Very good reasons must be identified and substantiated to give recommendation 6.
