Regional Collections Grant

2018 Project Worksheet

This worksheet is intended to help applicants develop answers in advance of filling out an application for the Regional Collections (RBDB) grants.  Application submissions will only be accepted online.  Applications are due by February 1, 2018.

All applicants must be given approval by the Institutional Director to submit the application.  Also, if awarded this grant, you must agree to share project results at a future CDLC event or in a CDLC publication. Unless other arrangements have been made, all projects will need to be completed by June 30, 2019, or award money will be forfeited.

2. General Project Information

2.1 Type of Grant Applying For:

____ Retrospective Conversion -- Projects involving the creation of digital catalog records from existing analog description formats (e.g. conversion of card catalog records to MARC records)

____ Metadata -- Projects involving creation or enhancement of metadata (e.g. fixing descriptive metadata for a collection of digitized photographs)

____ Digitization -- Projects involving the capture of analog materials in digital formats and may include the creation of descriptive metadata (e.g. scanning and describing a collection of maps, digitizing paper newspapers, etc.)

____ Newspapers -- A subset of digitization. For inclusion in the NYS Historic Newspapers project, newspapers must be on microfilm. If you are applying for this grant, you will be required to answer a series of additional questions below.  If you are interested in digitizing paper newspapers, apply for a digitization grant.
