Vital Milk is an accredited durable medical equipment supplier that provides insurance-covered electric breast pumps to mothers throughout Massachusetts. At no charge, Vital Milk can provide an in-home or hospital-room delivery by a community health worker in Suffolk, Hampden, Hampshire and Franklin County and  also parts of Essex, Middlesex and Norfolk County. This allows us an
opportunity to offer: personal instruction, evidence-based lactation support, 6 week postpartum check-up guides, a parenting and breastfeeding resource and referral guide, etc. We hope our services increase knowledge, confidence and empowerment. We want mothers to make informed decisions; we will respect  every woman’s choice and offer help with individualized breastfeeding plans.

If a mother needs a higher level of care beyond the scope of our services, Vital Milk works to connect her to a specialist before leaving her home. Vital Milk continues  to follow-up with the mother until a new provider is established, ensuring the continuity of care for both the mother and her infant.

We are hoping to expand our in-home delivery service areas to include more counties in Massachusetts. If you do not live within our in-home or hospital room delivery region, we do ship breast pumps at no charge and offer free on-going evidence-based lactation support over the phone.
