Representative of the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribal Education Department (PFS Pillars 2 and 4) Talia Landry reviewed updates from the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe’s Education Department.

Student Advisory Committee Representative Andrew Kelley (PFS Pillars 1 and 2): Andrew Kelley was unable to attend.

Report of the Director of Finance

  • FY 24 Budget to Actual (page 17); FY24 Revolving (page 18); School Choice (page 19); Update on FY 25 Budget including CIP Ms. Lopes reviewed the components of the packet and responded to questions from the Committee.
  • *FY24 Budget Transfer Request (pages 20-23) Ms. Lopes reviewed the justification for requesting budget transfers to match finalized contracts: Motion to approve 24-01 transfer in the amount $463,976.00 by Mr. Weeden, Second: Mr. Davis, Vote: unanimous
  • HVAC Projects Update (Coombs and MMHS/QS)Ms. Lopes updated the Committee where the district is with the project. KCC is scheduled to begin in June 2024.

Specifically Assigned/Unfinished Business

  • *FY25 School Committee Meeting Schedule (page 24) Motion to approve SY24-25 School Committee meeting schedule as presented by Mr. Myers, Second: Mr. Davis, Vote: unanimous
  • Determine date for MPS/MWT Joint Meeting (June 12 or 26, July 10 or 24–June 26 is MWT’s preferred date) Tentative date July 10, 2024 at 5:30 PM at the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribal Government Center - to be confirmed.

New Business

  • Superintendent’s SY23-24 End-of-Year Goals Update (handout) and evaluation timeline (page 25) Mrs. DeBoer reviewed the process and the timeline of the process moving forward. She also reviewed her progress towards her goals.
  • Superintendent Evaluation Sub-Committee Meeting  (4/4/24-Brian Weeden & Daniel Rodrigues; Alternate Matt Davis) 
  • FYI:  Town Meeting on 5/6/24 (7 PM at MMHS)--Class of 24 Valedictorian Charlie Jenkins will be speaking for 2-3 minutes on the importance of being an engaged citizen; Town Elections on Saturday, 5/11/24
