Grading Policy

Grade will be determined by the following criteria:

             80%     Active Participation/Personal & Social Responsibility-

(Daily Grading Rubric)

            20%     Cognitive/Skill Assessment- (quizzes, projects, assignments, etc.)

Be a self-advocate:  If you have a question about your grade, take responsibility and see your teacher.

Being Unprepared for Physical Education Class:

If unprepared, a student may still participate and receive a deduction of 1 point. If a student chooses not to participate the student will receive a deduction of 3 points and will not have the opportunity to make up that class. 

Daily Health/P.E. Rubric

Each student starts each quarter with 100 as their grade. Each day a student can lose up to 10 points. Deductions are as follows:

-2 Points

-1 Point

  • Bell ringer 
  • Classwork
  • Disrespectful behavior/language to peers/teacher
  • Zero participation in PE
  • Frequent use of inappropriate language
  • Participate in class discussions
  • Shoes for P.E.
  • Participates with difficulty
  • Uses inappropriate language
  • Late for class
  • Clothes for P.E.
  • Limited participation
  • Inconsistent in rules interpretation, safety, and attitude.

Students will be given the opportunity to earn up to 10 points back per quarter through different activities such as:

-Health/Sport related current events.

-Attend TCMS or SCHS games & fill out a sheet to return.

-Complete a Fitness Circuit
