Prior to the start to the pandemic and over the last few years, athletic eligibility has gone through several changes. At the end of the 2021-2022 school year, the Grossmont Athletic Conference voted on new rules for the 2022-2023 school year. It is important that all families understand those rules in anticipation of the upcoming seasons. The main rule change has to do with the appeal and probation process. Prior to the pandemic ONLY freshmen could ask for an appeal if their grades fell below a 2.0. Now freshmen athletes can ask for an appeal AND ask for ONE ADDITIONAL appeal over the course of their remaining high school career. That appeal is not automatically granted as it requires coach and administration approval, and students must meet the minimum CIF requirements. Please see the dates and details below.

Appeal Process/Details: A 9th grade student will be entitled to a one time academic probation for grade point average (gpa) below 2.0 on a 4.0 scale.  In addition, the same student may be allowed a separate, one time academic probation after their 9th grade year. This probation is not automatic. The probation will need to be approved by administration.

Conduct: Students are not limited to one appeal for conduct.
