Registration is generally required, and sometimes training is required as well. For ALL volunteer opportunities, please register directly with the organization on their website or by calling them.

Backpack Buddies. Opportunities for individuals and groups

Assist with packing food bags for students to take home for weekends and school breaks

Balls Bluff Battlefield. Multiple on-going opportunities

Tour guides, clean up, maintenance & landscaping (Leesburg)

Banshee Reeks Nature Preserve. Monthly opportunities to volunteer

Help preserve manager remove invasive plants. Equipment is provided, bring your own work gloves. (Leesburg) 3rd Saturday of every month

Blue Ridge Center. On-going opportunities

Teen Volunteer Program

Cake4Kids. On-going

Bake & donate birthday cakes for at-risk or underserved youth (foster care, group homes, homeless shelters, transitional & low income housing, domestic violence or human trafficking shelters, substance abuse programs and refugees
Must be 18 to volunteer as baker (16-18 as part of a parent-teen team)

Cheer someone up by sending cheerful drawings to Senior Citizens, our Troops Overseas and anyone in need of a smile

Friends of Homeless Animals (FOHA). Multiple on-going opportunities

Dog walking, cat care, socialization, pet photography, bio writing & more!

Free tutoring to students K-6

Homeless Animals Rescue Team. On-going Sundays

Help hold cats at adoption events (Sterling). 12-3

LINK Against Hunger. On-going opportunities

Non-profit organization that exists to provide emergency food to people in Herndon, Sterling, and Ashburn. The all-volunteer staff members at LINK believe in the power of selfless service and the importance of providing people in crisis with unconditional love.

Loudoun Animal Shelter. On-going opportunities for individuals or groups

Animal care requirement is at least 8 hours per month for 6 months. This is a long-term commitment!
