  1. Call to order – 1:03 pm

Quorum met – Sixty-Three (63) in attendance, (48 needed for quorum)

                              (Fifty-Eight (58) at Call to Order. Five (5) late arrivals.)

  1. Honorariums and Recognitions

A.  Recognition and Acknowledgement of the Tribal Lands was given by Commission E Representative, ShaeAnn Clements.

B.  The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Third Vice Chair, Hunter Cain.

Acting Chair Carolyn Murray seeks unanimous consent to adopt the Consent Agenda. Non opposed. The Consent Agenda is approved.

  1. Third Vice Chair’s Report – Status of Clubs and Caucuses delivered by Hunter Cain. CCDP has 15 Democratic Clubs and Caucuses in good standing:

  4. Henderson Democratic Club
  5. Mesquite to Moapa Democratic Club
  6. Nevada Democratic Education Caucus

  10.  Red Rock Democratic Club
  11.  Southwest Democratic Club

  1. First Vice Chair’s Report – Report on Political Organizing Committee delivered by Carolyn Murray. Political Organizing Committee has three main objectives:
  1. Voter registration
  2. Increase the number of voters in Clark County
  3. Assist Democratic Campaigns and to get out the vote.

                                     Let’s Register, Let’s Vote, Let’s Win!

  1. The Chair’s Report - Chair Chris Roberts will send his report at a later date to the Central Committee.

  V.         New Business

                  A.  Chartering of the Eastside Democratic Club - Acting Chair Carolyn Murray recognizes ShaeAnn Clements to present the resolution and motion to Charter the Eastside Democratic Club.

   

The Motion has been made to Charter the Eastside Democratic Club by ShaeAnn Clements and seconded by Michael Weiss.

After hearing debate, Acting Chair Murray calls the question. None opposed. Motion passes. East Side Democratic Club is Chartered.

                             B.   Standing Rules for Virtual Meeting Participation  Acting Chair Carolyn Murray recognizes Joe Throneberry to present the resolution and motion to approve the standing rules for virtual meeting participation.

The motion has been made by the Rules and Bylaws Committee and does not require a second.

Judith Whitmer moves to call the question. Seconded.

Acting Chair Murray calls for a vote. None opposed. Motion passes. Standing Rules for Virtual Meeting Participation - approved.

  1. Appointment of Michael Weiss as Chair of the CCDP Rules and Bylaws Committee - Acting Chair Carolyn Murray recognizes Gordon Brown to speak on behalf of Michael Weiss’ appointment as Chair of the Clark County Democratic Party Rules and Bylaws Committee.

Nevada State Democratic Party Chair Judith Whitmer seconds the motion and calls the question to appoint by unanimous consent Michael Weiss as the Chair of the Clark County Democratic Party Rules and Bylaws Committee. Seconded.

Acting Chair Carolyn Murray seeks unanimous consent. None opposed. Motion passes. Michael Weiss has been appointed Chair of the Rules and Bylaws Committee.

                      D.   Appointment of Diversity Members to the CCDP Executive

                                Board - Chair Roberts asked that the item to appoint diversity members to the CCDP Executive Board be tabled to the next CCCC Meeting as he is the nominator, and also seeks more input from Clubs and Caucuses.

Judith Whitmer, Chair of the Nevada State Democratic Party motions to table the appointment of Diversity Members to the Clark County Democratic Party Executive Board until the next Clark County Central Committee meeting.  Seconded. Acting Chair Murray seeks a vote. None opposed. Item is tabled by unanimous consent.

                   E.    Election of Nominees to the Clark County Democratic Party Central Committee - New member nominations were read into the record by Acting Chair Carolyn Murray. They will be considered appointed pending vetting to assure eligibility.

Acting Chair Murray moves to appoint said people to the Clark County Central Committee. Seconded. Acting Chair Murray calls the question to seek unanimous consent to appoint said people as new members (pending vetting). None opposed.

  1. Open Comments and Announcements:
  1. Laura Perkins, currently serving as University Regent for District 1, announced she is running for Mayor of the City of North Las Vegas.
  2. Derek Washington announced the launch of the Progressive Black Democrats of Nevada Caucus. He invited all to the next meeting in January 2022.
  3. Nick Beer, District A, announced that at the upcoming Nevada State Central Committee meeting, he is running for one of the State Party Executive Board positions to represent Clark County.
  4. Anna Albertson announced she is the newly elected President of Red Rock Dems. She invited all to their Holiday Party.
  5. Rebecca Paulson from Mesquite to Moapa Democrats invited all to their virtual Holiday Party.
  6. Christopher Fobes, Treasurer of the Henderson Democratic Club   invited all to their monthly meetings (first Wednesday of every month), at Lifeguard Arena, 222 S. Water St., from 7 – 8pm.
  7. Brian Di Fatta, Chair of the SW Democratic Club, invited all to their meetings (first Monday of the month), at Windmill Library.
  8. ShaeAnn Clements thanked all for Chartering the East Side Dems, and for passing the Standing Rules for Virtual meetings.
  9. Judith Whitmer thanked everyone and stressed how important it is to join Clubs and Caucuses, as well as getting involved with Community Engagement and Outreach.
  10. Judith Whitmer discussed the Seventeen County Strategy called “Democrats for Nevada”.
