Environmental Scholarships

The West Michigan Chapter of the Air & Waste Management Association (WM-AWMA) is pleased to announce the availability of individual scholarships, each in the amount of $3000, to be awarded to selected students pursuing a career in environmental studies. Dependent of MEA active or retired member in good standing, attend a Michigan college/vocational training (some restrictions apply) and from lower income households. AAUW Pauline Chappell Memorial Scholarship
For young women high school seniors & live in South Haven. Have self-knowledge, awareness of issues facing women today, and the potential for making a positive contribution. When possible, special consideration is given to girls who will be the first generation of their family to attend college. Questionnaire, essay, and interview. Application available in SSC office. Rosa Parks Scholarship

Must be a senior attending a public or private Michigan High School.  Must graduate by August of the application year.  Must have a GPA of 2.5 or above.  Must complete an application form and essay along with providing official copies of high school transcript and ACT or SAT results.  Any additional requirements to be met as noted in application package.

Calvin Scholarship (Grace J. Calvin)

Must be a graduating senior from the South Haven School District planning to enroll in an accredited college or university, technical or vocational school as a full-time OR part-time student in the fall.  Minimum 2.8 GPA is required. Application, one page statement, & two letters of recommendation are required.  Applications are available in the Student Success Center.  Completed applications to be submitted to the Student Success Center.

Fred & Lena Meijer Scholarship

Student is a Meijer team member or a child (natural, legally adopted, or stepchild) of a Meijer Team Member who has been employed for at least one year by the time of the application deadline.  Children of team members must be full-time students to apply, while Meijer team member applicants may be part-time students.

South Haven Community Memorial Scholarship and/or Rotary Scholarship

SHCM Info:

To qualify for a South Haven Community Memorial Scholarship the following criteria must be met:

1. Applicants must complete and application form found in the SSC.

2. Applicants must be a senior in good standing who will graduate from South Haven High School

by the end of the current school year.

3. Applicants must attain a minimum 2.5 GPA through the first semester of their senior year.

4. Applicants must complete a written essay, tape/video recording or photo display as required.

5. Applicants must secure a written letter of recommendation.

Candidates should adhere to the following procedure:

1. Tell us how you have made South Haven a better community. You may do this by:

a. Submitting a written essay describing your experience.

b. Submitting a tape recording, video recording or photo display of your experience.

2. Provide one reference letter from an adult who knows of your community service.

3. If applying for the Rotary Scholarship, provide a second reference letter from an adult who can attest to your

living up to the Rotary Four Way Test.

4. Complete the application and turn in all materials to the South Haven High School Student Success Center by

The SW MI Human Trafficking Task Force Scholarship

For students attending Southwestern Michigan College or Lake Michigan College. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated a commitment to raising awareness for human trafficking. This student will have a career goal set in a profession related to medicine or criminal justice. 2.5 GPA required. Applications are available in the SSC.

2.2 GPA.  The South Haven Garden Club is pleased to offer an annual $1,000 scholarship to a recent high school graduate or current college student from the South Haven area that is pursuing a horticulture related field of study. Kelsey’s Law Distracted Driving Scholarship

Applicants are asked to submit a persuasive message that shows how you would convince young drivers to reduce distractions while driving.

 Messages may be in the form of a video, graphic or Tweet that resonates with teens and influences their driving behavior. Must be a Michigan resident.

South Haven Ram Boosters Scholarship

Must be a full time student with a GPA of 2.5 or higher and eligible to graduate.  Applicants must participate in a sport during their senior year.  Application, transcript, letter of recommendation, & essay should be turned in to the Athletic Office.  Applications & all other information concerning this scholarship can be found in the Athletic Office or the Student Success Center.

South Haven Steelheaders Scholarship 
2.5 GPA, member or relative of Steelheader for 3 years, full time student, personal statement, list of activities. Preference given to applicants majoring in the earth sciences, more specifically in wildlife/fisheries management. Student must submit application.​ Applications available in the SSC.
