International Air Rifle and Pistol National Championship

11-13 July 2025

The Scholastic Action Shooting Program invites you to compete in the 2024 International Rifle and Pistol National Championship. Held at the Cardinal Shooting Center in Marengo, Ohio, July 11-13, this event is open to all junior shooters who are members of SASP teams.

EVENTS:

International Air Rifle: 60 shots

International Air Pistol: 60 shots

International Sport Pistol: 30 shots precision, 30 shots rapid.

COURSE OF FIRE

Qualified competitors will shoot 2 courses of fire per discipline.

        Air Pistol: 60 shots in 1 hour and 15 minutes

                   Sport Pistol: 60 shots

                                30 shots on the International Precision Target

                                6 series of 5 shots in 5 minutes for each series.

                                30 shots on the International Rapid Fire Target

6 series of 5 shots - during each series, the target appears five(5) times each time for three (3) seconds with a seven (7) second pause between each appearance. One (1) shot to be fired during each appearance.

Athletes will compete shoulder-to-shoulder in the same relay.  Prep/Sighters in a time limit of 15 minutes.  60 record shots in a time limit of 75 minutes. No finals will be conducted. Rifle and Pistol will compete at the same time. If a team/individual would like to compete in both, you will need to request separate relays.

RULES: The 2020 ISSF  International rule book will be used.  For equal cumulative scores, ties will be broken using the total number of Xs.  If scores are still tied, the highest total score of the last 10 competitive shots will be used.  Eye and hearing protection are mandatory.

Air pistol will include a beginner and intermediate category following the SASP Progressive Position Pistol rules for competitors in the Rookie Division.

REGISTRATION AND MATCH FEE:  Online registration and payment of match fee available in the SHOT system.  Registration closes July 5th, 2025 we cannot assure correct t-shirt size after June 10th, 2025.   Refunds are not available after June 10th.

There will be no on-site registration.

Match fee is $55 per entry.

TARGETS AND SCORING:  Competitors will fire on Megalink targets for 10m and paper targets for 25m pistol. Parents/Coaches and Volunteers are encouraged to help score 25m targets.

RESULTS:  Results will be posted after each relay. Results will be found online at the completion of the match.

AWARDS:  SASP will provide an award for the top-three teams in Senior, Intermediate, Rookie and Open Divisions and individual competitors male and female HOA in all divisions and disciplines.

International Awards

July 13th  6:00 PM at Hitters building (10m range)

July 14 - 18 Range 2  will be open range time from 9am to 4pm for open public demo range for athletes/coaches to try their hand at an Olympic Rifle/Pistol discipline.
