Agenda and Minutes:
- Welcome and Thank You from Principal Serin
- SLT meeting times/Meeting Options (In person/Hybrid)
- We are choosing the Hybrid option: Ms. Tucker and Ms. Ricciardi will be the two in-person participants.
- Reviewing Our School Mission/Vision/Goals
- After teacher discussion, it was decided to simplify the goals. Teachers will review the goals with students so that they can understand them. Our math goal may be revised for clarity.
- Health and Safety Procedures for Students, Staff and Families
- Protocols have not changed since the last meeting. Cleaning protocols and vaccination requirements for parents have not changed. Teachers and students will test themselves four times a month with given tests.
- Based on the budget these are the available after school programs.
- Basketball team

- We will be partnering with the Pomonok after school program to train their staff to help support our students with these services to reduce costs.
- We are also partnering with Marquis Studios and another company for music and visual arts. More info coming.

Balanced Literacy Program: All classrooms in P.S. 201Q follows a Balanced Literacy approach. This ensures that our students are consistently participating in:
- Read Alouds
- Guided Reading
- Shared Reading
- Reading Workshop
- Writing workshop
- Word study/Tier II Vocabulary
- Partnership with Police Precinct 107 and PSA9
- Anti Bullying Assemblies
- Respect for All Assemblies
- Basketball with students and staff
- IReady online assessments are currently being done. Data will be analyzed and shared and used to change goals.
- Teachers are also finalizing F&P reading assessments. These assessments are used for guided reading groups. The assessments will be given 3 instead of 4 times a year.
- Instruction is always based on data.
- PTA will give teachers papers for the candy sale.
- Walk-for-Life on October 27 or 28th (Rain date.)
- Take Your Kid to School date October 13
- Planning for Small Bites
- NYC Parks Department will contact us when we can start the second grade swimming program.
- Mr. Serin asks for volunteers (vaccinated) for recess and lunch to help students get acclimated to school.
- For example 3-K parents can help students understand what school expectations are.
