Your Beach Plum Wedding
Since 1950, the Beach Plum, nestled amidst thirty acres of working waterfront farm, has been an unmatched setting for romantic getaways, family retreats and wonderful weddings. The Beach Plum’s lures are many but may be best summed up by a spontaneous nightly ritual. Every evening our guests, amazing team and even the Red Devons, pause to soak in the magic of the sun dropping into Vineyard Sound.
We are thrilled you are considering a Beach Plum Wedding! The Nixon Family and our stellar team will stop at nothing to make sure your special event exceeds your expectations. The Beach Plum can accommodate up to 250 wedding guests utilizing our water view lawns as ceremony locations, dining room, and terraces. Because our goal is providing an exceptional experience at the best possible price we have worked hard over the years and invested to bring many ancillary costs in house. These will be covered by a facility fee of $25,000 that includes: 2 wedding tents- for the upper and lower patios, handcrafted wedding arbor, benches and farm tables as well as chairs for 125. If your wedding exceeds 125 guests we will break out the additional costs for you. It ensures exclusive use of the Beach Plum but does not include the cost of room accommodations.

Wedding party/dinner prices start at $160 per person. We feature a two-course menu, and include one hour of cocktail service with your choice of passed hors d'oeuvres, a first course of salad greens along with bread, followed by a main course.
Chilmark is still a dry town; we are a BYOB venue. We are unable to sell you alcoholic beverages however we can serve alcoholic beverages that you provide for your guests. We are still obligated to follow the laws and regulations regarding the service of alcohol to individuals in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
We reserve the right to refuse alcoholic beverage service to any person who appears intoxicated, appears under the legal age or cannot show proof of age. Our corkage fee or beverage fee is a flat rate $10pp.
The BPI Event Coordinator must be notified fourteen (14) business days prior to your function with the exact attendance. The number will constitute a guarantee and you will be charged for the number of meals served or the number of meals guaranteed, whichever is greater.
Please note that for events with assigned seating, an alphabetized guest list of attendees, table # & corresponding meal selection is also required 14 days in advance to avoid a labor charge.
It is the client’s responsibility to provide the final number of vendor meals two weeks prior to the event and inform us if there are any food allergies/restrictions among vendors. Vendor Meals will be served immediately following dinner service. Meals are $65.00 per person.

We are happy to reserve and plan your rehearsal dinner at the Dinners at the Home Port.
Beach Plum Sunday Bruch
We are happy to reserve and plan a Sunday Brunch at the Beach Plum.
Mass Meals Tax
Please note there is Mass Meals Tax of 6.25% and 18% service charge added to your menu bill.
Day of Breakfast Schedule
The Beach Plum Restaurant will open for breakfast from 7:30am-10: 30am on the day of the event to allow the kitchen and dining room teams ample time to setup your event.
We encourage the engagement of a wedding coordinator. The Beach Plum requires at least “Day of” on Island wedding coordinator from our approved list. If you wish, we can engage for you at a cost of $1,500.
The BPI Event Coordinator must approve all entertainment, rentals and decor vendors. All vendors must provide a current statement of liability insurance.
Gift Bag Delivery & Storage
Please notify our events manager of any packages with the following information on the label: Group Name, Date of Function, and Return Address. The Inn cannot accept packages more than five (5) days prior to your function date.
We will gladly deliver your guest bag to specific rooms without charge welcome/amenity bag deliveries if an alphabetized list of guests and their corresponding guest rooms must be attached to each bag. If not attached gift bags will be handed out at the front desk. The Beach Plum assumes no responsibility for packages stored, shipped or left on property.
We have learned that having a designated family member in charge of room assignments is essential .Below we will for the name and contact of your designee.
Beach Plum Inn Rooms and Bungalows
This contract ensures your exclusivity to the property for your wedding weekend and is be responsible for booking the eleven inn rooms for a minimum of three nights.
For the Bride
We highly recommend the weekly rental of our two adjacent historic houses. Evelyn’s House, adjacent to the Beach Plum is a sublime Bridal base camp. It is a classic “Menasha Camp” with two bedrooms, a full kitchen, fireplace, and one of the best views anywhere.
For The Groom’s Family
By popular demand from friends, and because its so perfect we have made the two main houses at Marsh Hill the Nixon’s “Family Camp” available for the groom’s family. About one hundred yards from the Beach Plums wedding action Marsh Hill is the three bedroom captains House and then two bedroom Lookout and a beautiful swimming pool.
Menemsha Inn & Cottages
The Menemsha Inn & Cottages has fifteen rooms available for three nights minimum stay. By special arrangement is possible to secure some of the weekly rentals cottages and houses. Twelve housekeeping cottages and Ruth’s or Shell House our sister inn, located a short walk away, can also provide additional accommodations.
Security & Liability
All events require event day liability insurance with a $1,000,000 policy enlisting the owners, Bob & Sarah Nixon as additionally insured. This can be found at www.wedsafe.com
The Beach Plum Inn does not assume responsibility for damage or loss of any merchandise or articles left on the premises prior to, during, or following any event. As wedding host you assume full responsibility for the conduct of all persons in attendance at the event and for damage done to the Inn or any person as a result of the event.
Deposit & Payments
Deposits are non-refundable. In the event of cancellation, the following fees will be due:
3 to 6 months prior 50% of estimated revenue
90 to 30 prior 75% of estimated revenue
30 days or less prior 100% of estimated revenue
The Beach Plum Inn does not assume responsibility for damage or loss of any merchandise or articles left on the premises prior to, during, or following any event. The client is held responsible for the setup and removal of any and all items. The guest assumes full responsibility for the conduct of all persons in attendance at the event and for damage done to the Inn or any person as a result of the event..
In the event it becomes necessary to place this account for collection, purchaser agrees to pay all necessary and reasonable collection costs and/or fees. Events starting before 7:30am and after 10pm will be subject to a $1,000 labor/overtime fee
