Director of Development - One Hope Tulsa
Job Description
The Development Director is responsible for initiating, building, and maintaining relationships with One Hope’s donors, supporters, and high-level partnerships. These relationships will be prioritized based on the strategic fundraising plan the Director of Development will design and implement in coordination with the One Hope Leadership team. The Director of Development will plan and oversee all fundraising events, communications, and other donor engagement. As a member of the One Hope Staff, the Director of Development will also serve a minimum of 5 hours per week in neighbor-facing roles.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with staff and board of directors to create and implement a fundraising strategy
- Become proficient in telling the story and sharing the mission of One Hope
- Cultivate a reputation for One Hope in the local Tulsa fundraising community as a respected partner
- Develop donor base and manage donor relations
- Cultivate and steward foundation partnerships
- Build partnerships with local businesses
- Discover and engage new church partners
- Direct grant-writing efforts aligned with fundraising plan
- Manage fundraising campaigns and events
- Promote leadership development programs (internship/fellowship)
- Cultivate board engagement and maintain compliance
- Oversee PR and media communications
- Recruit, welcome, and position new volunteers in compatible programs
- Coordinate partnerships and volunteers during events
- Serve neighbors directly in One Hope programs and build long-term relationships in community
Qualifications, skills, and abilities:
- Preference for candidates with at least three years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, preferably in Tulsa.
- Experience planning and executing fundraising events
- Experience cultivating and building relationships with donors and supporters
- Experience in navigating the grant-writing process
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- Detail-oriented problem solver
- Capacity for strategic and long-term thinking
- Disciplined and tenacious in executing strategic plan
- Organized and motivated to get things done
- Flexible and willing to adapt to change
- Passionate about and committed to the mission of One Hope Tulsa
- Proficient in basic computer skills and often-used applications (google sheets, docs, etc.)
- Understand and agree to the AFP Code of Ethical Principles for Fundraisers

Staff members will participate in regular evaluation of their responsibilities in light of their role. All staff members devote time to managing special events, serving in programs, collaborating with other staff, supporting the internship and fellowship, and participating in staff development.
