ROLE TITLE:   St. Paul Golf Outing

The St. Paul Golf outing provides an opportunity for men and women to enjoy an afternoon of golf and fellowship with members and their guests while raising funds to support a variety of projects connected to our church and school.

DIRECT SUPERVISOR:

Don Matthias, Virgil Wendt, Owen Stamm and Fred Rauschert

LENGTH OF SERVICE:

Committee members will be asked to re-up for the following year outing. Many volunteers, especially those who help on the day of the event, can expect a one day commitment.

PREREQUISITES:

Players and helpers don’t have to be members of St. Paul, and need no previous experience. We have participants with a wide range of golf abilities, and workers can easily learn the routine on the day of the event.

-Some sales skills (Getting hole sponsors, selling raffle tickets)

-Art skills for program cover and attractive displays

ROLE SPECIFIC DETAILS:

The outing is organized via a committee that works together and also decides who will take the lead with certain aspects of the event. Members of the committee will work to:

-Arrange the event date and select the course

-Designate fees for golf, buffet, hole sponsors, and special hole prizes

-Set up registration collection and day of the event sign-in

-Prepare a program with information and time for special events

-Procure hole sponsors

-Purchase prizes for games and raffle

-Arrange for additional help/volunteers (including photographer, hole supervisors, clerics)

TIME FRAME: Leaders of the committee have four or five meetings the last month before the event which targets the last Sunday in August. They spend time individually as they carry out their various assignments leading up to the event as well. Workers start at noon on the day of the outing and are invited to enjoy the buffet which follows the golf activity, usually around 6:30pm
