Please give some examples of high profile events held on campus last year  (i.e. concerts. speakers, political debates, etc.):        

Spring Fest is held every year which has a band, free food, games and activities at our student center; our programming board schedules over 900 events each year

What percentage of students stay on campus during the weekends?

A very high percentage - we are NOT a “suitcase” school and our students love to stay for the weekends

New initiatives on campus and/or institutional goals?

We have a new track and field team this fall, a new physiology program, built a new “athletic campus”

What is something you might find at the school that may not exist at any other school?

Our Jesuit ideals that are felt so strongly by students, faculty, and staff - our students are grounded in gratitude and we love to give back to the community and to each other! We love to pursue service work! It is a place where students make connections very quickly with their peers as well as any other member of the community

If located outside of New England, what New England area schools is your institution similar to?

What is the distance to the nearest big city? And what is that city?

We are located in the city of Scranton which has a population of about 70,000. We are about 2 hours from NYC and Philadelphia

What is the approximate distance from Westborough, driving and/or flying?

The drive could be done in just over 4 hours

What are your most popular majors?

Nursing, 5-year Occupational Therapy, 7-year Doctorate of Physical Therapy, Business, Biology, Psychology

What are your newest and/or most unique majors?

Business Communication, Social Media Strategies.

What majors are you hoping to grow?

Will applying “undecided” for a major affect a student’s chances for acceptance?

Not at all! It is one of our more popular majors

Is there a statistical advantage to applying early decision or early action?

We encourage students to apply early action!

If interviews are required or recommended, where and by whom are they conducted?

We conduct “personal appts” with an admissions counselor, rather than “interviews” and they are not required.

Are students automatically considered for merit scholarships with the application to the school?

Yes, any student who is accepted will be reviewed automatically

What percentage of demonstrated financial aid do you meet?

95% of first year students who file for aid, receive some form of aid

Is there anything else a student should know that they will not easily find in a guidebook or online?
