MFA Sport Development Grant Program

Mission: 

The MFA Sport Development Grant Program has been created to assist in the promotion and growth of disc sports and the Minnesota Frisbee Association. Applicants must submit requests that promote and increase awareness for the sport(s) and association. The purposes of the MFA as outlined in Article II of the organizational by-laws are:

  1. To establish and maintain high standards for all recreational competitive flying disc activities.
  2. To organize and coordinate the efforts of member volunteers to increase the quality and quantity of flying disc activities and recreational sites available for the citizens of Minnesota.

Guidelines:

  1. Proposals should support the mission of the MFA Sport Development Grant program.
  2. Applicants may request cash, MFA merchandise or a combination of the two with a total value not to exceed $250.
  3. Project ideas require matching funds from either public or private entities or both.
  4. Project ideas must be working towards an approved "shovel ready" status at the named location to be completed within the calendar year of this application submission.
  5. Project ideas should promote the MFA in a good light.
  6. Project ideas should help grow the sport by encouraging increased participation.

Submission: 

There are eight $250 grants that will be awarded by mid-June. After the initial awards are made, any unallocated funds from the grant program which meet all of the program's criteria and are approved by the standing MFA Executive Board will be available on a first come, first served basis. The completed grant application along with additional requested information and any supporting documents you wish to include must be received by the MFA before the June 1st deadline to be considered in initial process.

MFA Sport Development Grant Agreement & Terms

Grant Submission:

Up to eight (8) MFA Sport Development Grants will be awarded within each calendar year. Winners will be selected by the MFA Sport Development Committee and Board of Directors.
