INTRODUCTION
Covenant Christian School is a unique multi-denominational Christ-centered community that serves students in the Michiana area. As a school, we are committed to partnering with Christian Families to help equip the next generation to impact the world for Jesus Christ. Our school integrates solid biblical values and teaching into every aspect of our school day. We offer education in English and Spanish, including Spanish immersion programs for grades pre-K through 9.
Our administration, teachers, and staff are energetic, knowledgeable, and highly qualified. Their ministry is marked by dedication and service to The Lord. POSITION PROFILE
Our founding Covenant Christian (CCS) Secondary School Director will be a dynamic leader, a strong communicator, and a committed follower of Jesus Christ; modeling a vibrant, authentic, and personal faith. We are searching for a talented leader and administrator whose approach is strategic, collaborative, and characterized by the ability to inspire, motivate, and empower others to achieve the mission of Covenant Christian School.
The candidate will be passionately committed to continuing CCS’s legacy of Christian education and its dedication to academic excellence, biblical integration, and Christian discipleship. The new CCS Secondary school director will be a developer of people and possess a high-level business and organization acumen, ensuring educational processes and programs are in place to create an efficient, effective operation. The new CCS secondary school director will also work closely with our Head of School to ensure that CCS stays on mission year after year.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide Spiritual Leadership
○ Demonstrate a spiritual maturity that radiates a passion for Christ
○ Exemplify the characteristics of a servant leader
○ Enfold students and families from a variety of church backgrounds
Provide Strategic Leadership
○ Communicate the CCS story and vision in a compelling manner
○ Provide high-level, strategic direction for our high school advisory board, teachers, and staff
○ Collaborate with a dedicated team of administrators
○ Foster and maintain good relationships between CCS and partnering schools, local churches, and community organizations
Provide Stewarding Leadership
○ Inspire and attract new families and supporters with the mission of CCS ○ Lead the strategic development and sustainability of our enrollment process
○ Oversee advancement operations, including new campaign initiatives, cultivation of current and new donor relationships
○ Aid in recruiting, developing, supporting, and retaining exceptional teachers, and staff members aligned with our school mission and the CCS biblical lifestyle covenant
Provide Instructional Leadership
○ Encourage, plan for, and implement professional growth development, and aid in teacher evaluation
○ Actively engage with partner Christian schools to ensure High School curriculum viability
○ Work alongside school administrators, to develop and implement the stated curriculum, maintaining an updated CCS course catalog and IDOE programming regulations
○ Oversee student issues of an academic, social, spiritual, and disciplinary nature
PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS
Possess a deep, personal faith in Jesus Christ that is apparent in both word and deed. Agrees with and will advocate for CCS Statements of Faith outlined in the Biblical Lifestyle Covenant. Personally align with the teaching and mission of CCS.
Collaborates with stakeholders to ensure plans and initiatives are supported. Sets long and short-term objectives related to high school programming. Communicates exceptionally while being approachable and accessible.
Displays passion for spiritual formation and development for staff and student body. Creates partnerships with parents. Serves as a disciplined, dynamic facilitator of growth and excellence.
QUALIFICATIONS
Covenant Christian’s School Board desires a candidate for this position to have demonstrated ability and commitment to meeting the following minimum standards:
● Possess a Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in education, and/or educational administration .
● Has 3 or more years of teaching experience.
● Possess experience in educational leadership, preferably at a Christian institution. ● Demonstrate a clear commitment to professional growth.
● Active member/regular attendee of Bible-believing church and committed to growth in a relationship with Jesus Christ.
SUMMARY
In short, the new Secondary School Director will be a talented administrator and leader whose approach is strategic, collaborative, and characterized by the ability to inspire, motivate, and empower others to achieve the goals and objectives of CCS. Highly developed communication skills, creativity, and curiosity will enable the individual to direct the school in a manner that identifies and activates opportunities available. While possessing the skill to lead strategic planning and resource development initiatives, the new Head of the High School will be an executor with the ability to drive change in a positive, productive manner and focus limited resources in areas that best enable efficient achievement of the mission.
