Today, Learning Forward Texas is pleased to announce the appointment of three experienced educators to its Board of Directors. Lori Fuller, Dr. Glenda Horner, and Dr. Chris Summers will replace Laura Adlis and Laurie Vondersaar, who are completing their terms.
Lori Fuller is the Teaching and Learning Coordinator at Fort Sam Houston ISD. She brings 28 years of experience in public education as a teacher, instructional design coach, and professional development coordinator. Lori said in her application, “Serving on the board will re-energize my belief in the value of professional learning for teachers all over the state of Texas.”
Dr. Glenda Horner is the Director of Professional Learning in Cypress-Fairbanks ISD. She has 34 years of experience in public education as a teacher, coordinator, and director in Cypress-Fairbanks ISD. Glenda has served on the LFTX Advisory Committee and is an adjunct professor at the University of Houston and Abilene Christian University. She said, “My primary reason for desiring to serve on the board is to meaningfully contribute to an organization focused on ensuring that members have the support they need to be successful.”
Dr. Chris Summers has been the Assistant Superintendent in Sealy ISD for three years. He has 26 years in education as a teacher, a principal, and a director of curriculum and instruction before moving into the role of assistant superintendent. Chris has served on the LFTX Advisory Committee and is an adjunct professor at LeTourneau and Houston Baptist Universities. Chris said, “I am applying for the board because I have a passion for professional learning and developing leaders who make positive impacts on their campuses and their community.”
Debi Tanton, President of Learning Forward Texas, said, “I am thrilled to welcome these professionals into the Learning Forward Texas family! Their varied experiences and knowledge will benefit our organization as we seek to provide the highest quality resources and learning opportunities to educators throughout the state.”
Learning Forward Texas is an educational nonprofit association devoted exclusively to those who work in educator professional development. They help members leverage the power of professional learning to affect positive change in our schools and in our world.
