“WHAT SHOULD I DO?”

        If it’s BEFORE 11:30 AM, sweep and mop the lobby floor. Remember to place the “wet floor” sign.

        Sweep and mop the floors along the back hallway (cat side) and through the dog kennel hall.

        Clean the glass on all windows and doors.

        Empty trash bins in rooms and replace bags, including the lobby and restroom.

        Clean the restroom and sign the cleaning sheet posted inside.

        Sweep outside near the front entrance area.

        Check the lobby and front door areas for donation dropoffs.

Place new donations in the appropriate spots in the inventory shed and write today’s date on food items.

        Check donated items for linens and place them neatly/folded on shelves if clean.

If dirty, place them in the laundry room.

        Laundry almost always needs to be done. If you see a pile that looks dirty, begin a wash cycle.

If it looks questionably dirty, assume it needs a wash. Be mindful not to use too much detergent.

Check periodically to stay on top of wash/dry cycles.

        Collect any empty food and water bowls around the facility and take them to the sink for washing.

        If there are dirty dishes (that will almost always be the case), wash and set them aside to dry.

        Check that clean food bowls and fresh water are available to the animals.

        Notice it smells funky? Check the litterboxes.

Make sure they’re scooped (there are plenty of scoops to use).

Change the litter completely if the box is very dirty.

        Dirty litterboxes that have been set outside will need to be thoroughly cleaned.

        Check our Meet & Greet Play Yard (across the yard from the main parking area/entrance)

for any overlooked poop and/or trash and pick-up.

        Finished with everything else on the list? Pop in with the cats and give them some playtime.
