Collar 1: Martingale with choke chain
Collar 2: Reflective Martingale collar (safe)
A martingale collar is designed particularly for pups with heads that are smaller than their necks. These collars smoothly tighten against the dog's neck if they pull, back up or spin around. It is generally used by greyhounds, whippets, and nervous dogs.
A martingale collar is generally made out of fabric or nylon that forms a circle like most collars but also has a crescent shape on the back that is formed by another section of the same fabric. The larger sized loop of the collar fits around the dog's neck and the smaller sized loop sits at the back of the neck and has a D-ring which connects to the lead. When relaxed, the collar fits loosely and keeps your dog comfy. But, when the canine tries to drag, the secondary loop tightens the fabric around the dog's neck for a delicate no-pull impact.
More Comfy - Martingale collars also known as greyhound collars, function much the same way as a choke collar but without metal against the canine's skin. It also tends to incorporate a soft fabric or plastic to create the pull rather than a steel chain.
