Personal safety lessons - reminder
Between Monday and Thursday of this week, Jonathan and Karin will be teaching personal safety lessons through grade 7 and 8 PE classes. As a result, our availability to meet with students and teachers will be much more limited. In the event that a student is in emotional distress, we will request Lalit to confer with Anthea, Melissa, or Jan to determine options for supporting the student (and if necessary, either Jonathan or Karin will be pulled from the safety lesson). We recognize that the timing of these lessons is not ideal, and next year plan to schedule them in semester 1!
There is one remaining CST meetings of the school year on Tuesday May 21 (grade 7). Stay tuned for an Email from Jonathan with the names of the students to be discussed and the agenda.
We hope that the departing students found the transition sessions helpful (the leftover food was certainly appreciated by our seemingly always hungry kids!). We will be recognizing departing students during our last ‘regular’ MS assembly on Tuesday May, 28. At that assembly we will distribute the AES T-shirts that departing students are invited to have their friends sign with sharpies.
On Thursday, May 16, we hosted a MS Parent Coffee and presentation on the topic of transition in our community. We invite you to review the presentation slides posted to our MS Counseling Blog.
If you are a direct supervisor for a teaching assistant, please complete the appraisal form for them by Monday, May 20.

Later this week we hope to share the final draft of teacher schedules for SY 2019/20. Grade level teams will also be shared later in the week, along with next years daily schedule.
Parents that I have spoken to appreciate the communication. Please keep it tight in the last couple of weeks. Students appreciate structure and consistency.
