CANSI Ontario – Communication Director’s Report 2023-2024

This was my first season as the Communication’s Director.

This season posed very challenging snow conditions, which meant that most of our prep and certification courses were unfortunately canceled.

Activities:

• Learned the ropes.
• Supported the board by taking minutes at our monthly meetings.
• Sent an email to our list of XC clubs/resorts with a poster to publicize our course offerings.

Plans for coming season:

• Summer task – clean up the email list of clubs as I got tons of bounces.
• Summer task – create a document that details the responsibility of the communications director and procedures to know how to do the job. This will enable future directors to step into the role with a better transition experience than I had.
• Fall - Publicize the courses we have planned to clubs and existing instructors.
• Continue to take board meeting minutes.
