K280 PAC E-Board Meeting Minutes

October 11, 2024

Called to order at: 8:50 a.m.

In attendance: Gary, Jessica, Nikki, Angela, Joanna, Sisi, Staff Liaison (Justica, Emily)

  1. New Treasurer - Topher Balzan 3K Parent
  2. New Co-secretary- Gretchen Poole, able to start in November
  1. Upcoming events
  1. Virtual PAC Meeting 10/16
  2. Movie Night - Saturday, 10/19
  1. Concessions Needed
  1. Instacart order- pretzel pouches, Goldfish, fruit snacks, water, Honest juice boxes, stickers, pencils, candy (have to post allergens)
  2. Popcorn machine- need to check stock and assign a volunteer to operate the machine and distribute popcorn
  3. Will order six pizzas from Cozie’s on 10/15 (cash)
  1. Board Volunteer for each Volunteer Shift
  2. Login needed for Disney Plus streaming

  2. Will be pushing for tiles for school to help up participation
  1. Gary suggested displaying the tiles in the school building
  1. Pie sale fundraiser in November
  1. Betty Bakery Details
  1. We would charge for pies a few dollars over price
  2. Prefrence would be to have parents pick up from bakery Tuesday or Wednesday before Thanksgiving (they remain fresh for a week in fridge, months in freezer)
  3. Final order to be submitted a week before pickup (11/18)
  4. Two Sizes - 8” 4-8 small slices, 10” up to 10 good slices
  5. Flavors- consensus was to offer all flavors:
  1. Dutch Apple
  2. Classic Apple
  3. Pumpkin
  4. Lactose Free pumpkin
  5. Pecan
  6. Chocolate pecan
  7. Purple Sweet Potato
  8. Cherry streusel
  9. Blueberry  streusel
  1. Nikki suggested offering pie samples at school dropoff

  1. November 18-19th
  1. Need three to four olunteers for both days
  1. 3k 18th & 4K 19th
  2. 8:30 - 12pm
  3. Most likely over early
  4. Volunteer when your child has picture day is the sell

  1. Gym Day- 12/8 from approximately 10 a.m.- 12 p.m.
  2. Gary will apply for a permit from 9 a.m.- 1 p.m. that day, about one hundred kids expected

  2. Gary is in the process of getting a quote for three sets of three dividers

  1. Feedback on T-shirts, sweatshirts, totes, fanny packs, water bottles, stickers (waterproof)- bright colors, combine logos
  1. Sisi can offer guidelines to the designer she knows who can merge the logos
  2. Discussed designs for water bottles, pens, and umbrellas for teacher appreciation
  1. Art contest for K280 tote- offer guidelines and logo to use
  1. PAC WhatsApp Group
  1. Gary suggested utilizing ClassDojo instead of Whatsapp to send parent reminders
  1. Teachers inquired about financial support/grants to assist families with paying for the K280 afterschool program
  1. City vouchers are not accepted
  2. PAC requested a grant writing volunteer
  3. It was suggested to create a list of resources for alternate afterschool programs in addition to resources for financial assistance
