How to Refuse the Milestones

• UNDERSTAND your child’s grade/subject and Georgia’s guidelines 
• WRITE a letter (using our template) to your principal refusing for your child to participate in the Milestones

• Keep all communication in writing to document your refusal

• SEND your child to school on testing days and provide learning materials 
• JOIN the “Opt Out Georgia” Facebook group and reach out to us if you need any support at refusestandardizedtesting@abolitionistteachingnetwork.org
