Have you ever found it annoying that sportsmen get paid more than sportswomen, that they feature on the front of magazines and games much more frequently than sportswomen and all that is for no actual reason? Well here is why!

The highest-paid male athlete in the world is Lionel Messi, who earns $127 million dollars a year while Serena Williams, the highest-paid female athlete in the world gets paid $18.1 million dollars a year and is the 63rd  athlete in the world.

In the space of the years, 2000-2011 716 Sports Illustrated issues were released and only 36 featured women on the cover for no apparent reason.

Men and women have humongous pay gaps due to the fact that over the last 25 years lots of professional men’s sports leagues have been contracted to appear on TV and because the sports leagues/games earn lots of money they have more money to pay the players with. A study by USC News shows that only %2 of sports talk on the radio is about women's sport.

Men are more successful due to the reason that more money gets put into men's sport which means that men get better training and therefore get better results.
