Roof View Range

[This transcript is currently a work in progress.]

Okay. Okay. I'm in my roof plan. And if you open up your roof plan, you may notice that sections of your roof are missing. For example, I have I have this building over here with a double gable. If I go to my three D view, You'll see this second section of the roof, the second gable. It's not showing in my roof plan. Also, once I draw in my porch roof, that will not be showing up in my roof plan either. I'm going to go back to the roof plan. This has to do with our view range. I'm going to go into view range. There's two ways to get there in your properties palette on the left hand side. You can scroll down until you get to the extent section. Ve range, click edit, or you can type V R. This one we used quite often. Remembering VR is helpful. You'll notice that the associated level is the roof bearing level set at 20 feet. The cut plane is also set at 20 feet. The easiest thing to do so we can see the roof down below roof bearing, your porch or double gabled fronts is just to adjust the bottom associated level. I'm going to type in negative 20 feet. Right here and my view depth. I'm going to do that also negative 20 feet. If I click Apply, you'll notice I can now see that section, that second gable over here on the left hand side with my example, and it did pop in a few additional things on my main roof here that I want to take care of. I can click on my columns. I don't need to see those right now. Okay. Actually, I'm going to cover them up with my port roof, so I'll leave those for right now. I do have windows that are showing. I'm going to open up my visibility graphics and just turn them off in this view. I'll type VV. Bring that over. I'm in model categories. I'll scroll all the way down and D select windows. Click Okay. And then you'll notice we have this text for our fridge, our range, my washer dryer. This is a little bit of a glitch with vet, why these appear. The easiest thing to do, just to click on your roof, temporarily hide it HH. Now I have my floor system. I'm going to type HH, and if I have her, I have my structural beam system, so I'm going to click on type HH. Now I'm down to where I can click on the range. This time, I'm going to eternally hide. I'll type H. Same on the fridge, and this is just for this view. We're not deleting it. We're not eternally hiding it in any other view except this one. E H and the washer and the dryer, eternally hide. Now I have the roof, the floor system, everything that is temporarily hidden. I'll type HR for hide return, and we don't have to worry about that.
