Team Moana Hangi

Step 1: to light the fire use crinkled and soaked up paper and screwed  that will easily ignite the fire. Stack the wood like jenga.

Layer it - paper

-wood stacked like jenga

-rocks and irons

-then kindling- light

Step 2: While the hole is warming for 3-4 hours. Put the basket over the fire to sterilise them. After half an hour take baskets off to prep table. Lino with tinfoil/banana leaves/cabbage leaves.

Step 3: Begin to prepare the food.

Meats: Chicken, goat, meat, pork, mutton, beff, duck.

Vegetables: Kumara, pumpkins, potatoes, cabbage, carrot.

Stuffing - bread crumbs, grated carrot, mixed herbs.

Cut to a reasonable size and wash/rise clean. 2cm length and 3cm width.

  1. Soak the muslin cloth bags in cold water.

  1.  Put the vegetables in a muslin bag. Tie a knot at the top.
