  • ALEX: Next plan to call and reach out to smaller local grocery stores; If they say they no longer have budget ask about cycle and approach

Room Parents / Classroom Connectors

Lead: Erin

  • Almost all classrooms have a designated parent/connectors
  • Good to save parent emails addresses shared with you, as its can be hard to get them again
  • Can we send out an opt out vs an opt in?
  • Kelly wants ParentSquare to be a tool for parents to connect with one another; this seems like a huge missed opportunity
  • Discussed Handbook

  • ERIN: Gather names of connectors and share with Kristen
  • KRISTEN: Share names of all parent connectors with the entire family mailing list for school-wide clarity
  • ALL: In general, good to save email addresses shared with you
  • DECEMBER 8th: Kristen and Sujatta holding forum on how to use parent square share for parents
  • KRISTEN Connect Kelly and Sujatta over email
  • KELLY/REBECCA: Translate essentials of the Parent Connector Handbook into a less overwhelming poster

Teacher Supply Reimbursement

Teacher Liaison Lead: Alexandra

We offer $150 reimbursements

  • Grants for educational enrichment
  • Project learning
  • Math & Art
  • Visiting authors and artists
  • Class pet
  • Professional development

Need to share this information with teachers

  • Explore giving a short presentation to staff and teachers about reimbursements at their meetings:
  • Grade level team meetings
  • All staff meeting was a bit overwhelming

Teachers have been asking for basic things

  • What resources ARE available?
  • Connect with Genteen as part of a learning session to understand parameters of what school funds and their funding interests/preferences from CPTO

Create clear parameters about what we fund

  • Combine interests/preferences of parents with those of school to create parameters about what the CPTO does/does not fund
  • Ensure we keep the legal considerations of what is appropriate front of mind; Caroline is an excellent resource for this

What about supporting those who don’t serve the whole classroom?

  • Social worker?
  • Writing support?
  • Classroom teachers co-curricular extras?
  • We support needs of those who deal with the whole class at once

Send teachers/staff/paras notice about fiscal support from PTO

  • KELLY email Kristen and Genteen to discuss CPTO funding questions and parameters
  • LAUREN: Send teachers/staff/paras notice about fiscal support from PTO
  • Create clear parameters about what the CPTO does/does not fund
  • We support things not covered by the school
  • Share our funding parameters broadly with community; explore giving a short presentation to staff and teachers about reimbursements; explore different staff meetings to attend
