FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q. I am just curious how these due process paperwork sessions came about.
A. The Special Education Leadership Team recognizes the increasing complexity of the due process requirements and the amount of time it takes to complete the mandated paperwork. The Superintendents supported and approved this idea.
Q. Do I have to attend a certain number of sessions?
A. You can attend as many sessions as you like!
Q. Will there be anyone around to answer due process questions?
A. Yes, Special Education Leaders will be attending and available to answer questions. You can also request breakout rooms to meet as teams as needed.
Q. I don’t have any due process paperwork needing to be completed around these dates…can I come and work on lesson plans?
A. No, sorry…these work sessions are intended for completing due process paperwork only.
Q. Will I get paid for attending the work sessions?
A. Yes, staff will be paid $30 per hour.
Q. What if I can’t get there right when it starts or I have to leave early?
A. We will use your login and log out times to record time. You will need to have your camera on during the session and your display name will need to be recognizable to payroll.
Q. I am a related service provider, not a special education teacher…can I attend?
A. We recognize that related service providers also have due process paperwork requirements, so if you have due process paperwork that needs to be completed, yes…absolutely you may attend.
Q. Do I have to register?
A. There will not be any registration for these sessions. Just show up.
Q. These Q & A’s didn’t answer all of my questions….what do I do now?
A. Feel free to reach out to your district Director/Coordinator!
