Dual Credit at Lubbock-Cooper HS!

Everything you need to know...

What is Dual Enrollment or Dual Credit?

Dual Enrollment/Credit means that you receive credit for a course on both a high school transcript and a college transcript. Students who successfully complete dual credit courses will have college credit hours that can be used as part of their degree in a two or four year university. At Lubbock-Cooper High School, students have the option of taking Dual Credit Courses through South Plains College or with OnRamps Dual Enrollment through The University of Texas at Austin.

Simply put, dual enrollment refers to students taking courses concurrently at two separate institutions, while dual credit refers to students completing a single course to earn academic credits that are recognized by two or more institutions. edglossary.org  With Dual Enrollment, students are issued 2 separate grades: A high school grade by the Lubbock-Cooper  teacher and a college grade by the college instructor.  Dual Credit courses have the same teacher of record for both high school and college courses.
