- Attempted an MV stop near Mill River crossing, vehicle took off, and had an accident. Loaded forearm with extended magazine was left in car- offender was apprehended (6/5)
Questions:
- Body was pulled out of Quinnipiac River…updates? No suspicious activity detected
- Why is the PD no longer giving tickets for cars parked for street sweeping? No answer
- What’s the update concerning ATVs, motorcycles, and fast cars in the summer? - New drone unit to follow the dirt bikers and plainclothes officers investigate. Adding 10 new officers to the evening (7pm-3am) starts this weekend.
- Neighbors having late parties and music is still going past 10pm? - Call the non-emergency number
- Why are we understaffed? Retirees, salary, etc.

- Run through of 104 properties update (Clay, Wolcott, James, etc) - house by house review
- Report details action taken, citation dates, outcome
- Will report when we get the results in the upcoming months

- Graffiti and abandoned properties-how are they being tracked? Graffiti -Not working on this issue at the moment….. Abandoned houses (reached out to owners and they receive violations and eventually a citation)
6. REMINDER OF QUARTERLY PRESENTATION: Civilian Review Board, Jayuan Carter (jayuan.carter@gmail.com)
- Hired a consultant to make sure the minutes are put on the website
- New roles to be filled for the CRB -
- CRB - people who review certain cases for police misconduct, make recommendations to the Chief on discipline,

- Q&A for the city and they are considering the grant for the project
- Strong School redevelopment meeting on 7/11 for the parking lot expansion and edge set-back
- Partner with LCI to address major issues with People’s Laundromat and quality of life

To submit a complaint about officer misconduct, complete the Civilian Complaint Form and submit through the online form, OR by email to internalaffairs@newhavenct.gov, OR to this address in person: Office of Internal Affairs, New Haven Department of Police Services, 1 Union Avenue, New Haven, CT 06519.
Alternatively, you can go in person to the Police Headquarters, located at 1 Union Avenue, New Haven, CT 06519 and request the form to fill out there and submit to the above office.
After the complaint is filed, it is forwarded to the board by email so they can review and discuss the matter at the next monthly meeting in order to assign the subcommittee.
