The University continues to host Ready to Run CT--a group which is encouraging increased female participation in all levels of government; multiple debates for races in Connecticut including one for the governor’s office. Brother Guy Joseph Consolmagno, S.J, Director of the Vatican Observatory; Jane Fonda; The Hallelujah Train Gospel Chorus
What percentage of students stay on campus during the weekends?
Very high percentage, do not have exact number.
New initiatives on campus and/or institutional goals?
New construction continues to abound. Nursing and Health Studies building as well as dining hall expansion opened one year ago.. New residence hall (suite-style living for sophomores) opened in August. New school of business building scheduled for completion by Fall 2019.
Increase of students in engineering and health studies programs (public health, social work, health studies minor)
Increase in opportunities to earn master’s degree in select fields in five years.
What is something you might find at the school that may not exist at any other school?
Students are very much encouraged to take courses/declare double major or minor outside of their academic decision.

What is the distance to the nearest big city? And what is that city?
7 miles (10 minutes) to Bridgeport, CT; 18 miles to Stamford, CT (20-25 minutes); 57 miles to New York City (approx. one hour by train)
What is the approximate distance from Westborough, driving and/or flying?
128 miles; approx. 2 hours driving. Flying: N/A
What are your most popular majors?
Arts and Science, Economics, Psychology, Communication, English, Marketing, Management, Accounting (Business) Mechanical Engineering, Nursing.
What are your newest and/or most unique majors?
Newest: Public health and social work
Unique: One example: Film, Television and Media Arts.
What majors are you hoping to grow?
Engineering majors in general.

Will applying “undecided” for a major affect a student’s chances for acceptance?
Is there a statistical advantage to applying early decision or early action?
Yes, for Early Decision.
No, for Early Action.
If interviews are required or recommended, where and by whom are they conducted?
Recommended, not required. Usually on campus by member of senior class or admissions counselor.
Are students automatically considered for merit scholarships with the application to the school?
What percentage of demonstrated financial aid do you meet?
We attempt to meet as much demonstrated need as possible. No specific percentage, however.
Is there anything else a student should know that they will not easily find in a guidebook or online?
