This week we began our Adapting to Our World study by reading Croc and Turtle and Animals In Winter  and were excited to share all of the ways we like to have fun in the cold and snow. We learned a little about how some animals survive the cold by migrating and made a V-shape of  Canadian Geese.

Next week we’ll learn more about animals that hibernate by reading Bear Snores On  making a bear den.

Looking Ahead

We have rescheduled our Fall Family Day for 12/20, with only a day to spare before winter begins! I hope you can join us to see how we’ve been learning and growing.

Please remember to send warm weather gear with your child each day and an extra set of clothing for your child.

What Are We Learning About?

Our third Area of Study is called Adapting to Our World. We will focus on how we adapt to changes in the weather personally (clothing, activities), in our families (foods, shelter) and in our communities (habitats, migration and hibernation and how these connect to human adaptation). We will observe environmental changes in the weather, plants and water. 

We are making plans to turn our Dramatic Play area into a warming house/cafe and will be adding a skating rink in the coming weeks..
