Editor’s Corner

       Jai Jinendra,

I wish everyone a Happy New Year and hope you were able to spend time with family and friends.

I would like to start our January newsletter with following words from the Dalai Lama:

“The goal is not to be better than the other man, but your previous self”

As we start our second year in a quest to be better than the last, we humbly seek your support. We will reach out where we need help and please feel free to tap on committee’s shoulder for any suggestions, guidance or feedback.

Looking forward to an eventful 2020!

Warm regards,

Kalpesh Parekh

(Secretary, JSCNC)

Pathshala registrations for 2020 have been closed and finalized. For those who are yet to pay the dues please do so by January 19. Our Pathshala teachers are volunteers who work extremely hard to build jain foundation in our children - we would like their energies focussed on education rather than following up on the dues. Thank you for your understanding.

How to pay?

Please make check payable to “JSCNC” and write your child(ren)’s name in the memo. For example, "Child1, Child2".

You can hand over the check to 1) Volunteers sitting during January 12 and 19 Pathshalas 2) Any committee member or 3) Mail them to our treasurer at the following address:

4. Food Table Corner

Food served during monthly meetings and special events has played a vital role in building our community over the years. It has enabled us to spend quality time to learn Jainism and socialize with other fellow Jains without having to worry about our usual lunch/dinner planning that day. This wouldn't have been possible without the hard work and monetary donations from several individuals. We are extremely grateful for their efforts and thank them for their continued contributions.

We are looking for volunteers for the food table this year - for cooking, hosting the lunches and cash donations. Please contact our food coordinator, Mr. Shashin Chheda @ (617) 314-3428  for any questions / details.
