Ticketing Overview

AT THE DOOR: with Credit Card using Ticketleap. Cash for SINGLE ENTRY ONLY (All-House Passes must be purchased with card).

There are TWO TICKETING CATEGORIES:

  1. HOLIDAY HOUSE TOURS (non-special event days)

Discounted All-House Pass: $30 -- includes entry to every participating "Park Charms" houses. Available on Thursdays & Fridays (12/5, 12/6, 12/12, 12/13, 12/19, 12/20, 12/26, 12/27), weekend before Christmas (12/21 & 12/22) and weekend after Christmas (12/28 and 12/29). Weekend pass includes unlimited use of PHLASH bus.  

Single entry: $8

  1. SPECIAL EVENT DAYS (12/7, 12/8, 12/14, and 12/15):

Discounted All-House Pass: $35 — includes entry to all 6 participating houses (+ Ridgeland Mansion) as well as house to house transportation via the PHLASH Holiday Houses Loop)

Single entry: $8

Lunch Combo at Ridgeland: $10

CHECK IN PROCEDURE:

1. Look for a check-in desk outside the front door or just inside entry of the house.

2. Let staff know your ticket status (have tickets or need to buy):

3. Receive a wristband, which will be displayed at the point of entry at other houses. If you pre-purchased a Holiday Lunch at Ridgeland Mansion, remember to alert staff to receive a separate wristband.  

4. Show your wristband upon entry. Enjoy your day of unlimited access to the houses from 10 AM – 4 PM! Remember to show your wristband when boarding the bus (unlimited shuttle bus service included in ticket price)

Single entry procedure:

Pay $8 entry and receive a sticker as proof of admission. We recommend using a credit card, which can be quickly processed by check in staff. Only Site Managers and designated house staff can accept cash payment, which may delay the entry process.

TICKETING / ADMISSIONS

Q: I purchased an All House Pass. Does it matter which house I start at?

A: No. You can check in at any house you’d like. You’ll receive an All House Pass wristband. All of the houses have nearby parking.

Q: Can I pay at the door?

A: Yes, for both Special Event Days and regular Holiday House Tours you can pay admission at the door.

Q: Can I return the tickets?

A: There are no refunds (except in the case of extreme weather and announced house closures). We allow for exchange of tickets of equal or lesser value. Please present original ticket to door staff.

Q: I purchased tickets, but I’d like to attend on a different day. Are there exchanges?

A: Yes! We’re happy to let you use the ticket you already purchased on a different event day of equal or lesser value. There is no need to contact us to do the exchange. Simply present your ticket to the door staff and they will admit you.

Q: Are there timed tickets?

A: No you can visit anytime from 10 am - 4 pm and you can tour each decorated room of the house at your own pace. Please visit the  “EVENTS” section of the website for updated info and schedule: https://holidaysinthepark.com/all-december-events/ 

Q: Is there a limit to ticket sales on Special Event Days? Will it sell out?

A: The limit is very high so it’s unlikely to sell out, however, we always recommend that you purchase tickets in advance.

Q: How do I redeem my neighbors discount?

A: There are two ways

  1. ONLINE: Enter your zip code as the discount code in the Ticketleap checkout (eligible zip codes: 19130, 19121, 19132, 19129, 19131, and 19104).

  1. AT THE DOOR: tell the check-in staff that you’re a neighbor and specify your ZIP code.

 TRANSPORTATION (PHLASH bus service)  

Q: Where can I pick it up? Does it matter where I start?

A: No, it doesn’t matter! You can start and catch the bus from any one of the 6 houses. On Special Event Days there will be TWO BUSES running in a continuous loop dedicated to the Historic Houses. On all other weekends, there will be ONE BUS going back and forth between the 5 East Park houses and ONE BUS serving Cedar Grove in West Park (via the Zoo Loop). You can pick up the bus from any one of the 5 houses.

Q: How much does it cost?

A: Unlimited bus use included in the All-House Pass tickets price. All other ticket holders will have to pay the standard PHLASH single ride rate of $2 per trip.

Q: Is there a schedule?

A: Due to unpredictable traffic, we do not issue a specific timetable schedule. However, buses run every 15-20 minutes on Special Event Days and every 25-30 minutes on weekend Holiday House Tours (12/21, 12/22, 12/28, 12/29)

Q: Where can I park?

A: Most Fairmount Park roads have plenty of free parking without any restrictions (please check signs to confirm). Use navigation to find the house where you’d like to start, and you’ll be able to find nearby parking. For more info, please refer to the HISTORIC HOUSES MAPS.

Q: Where can I eat in the area?

A: On Special Event Days, PHLASH buses will stop at Ridgeland Mansion for a Holiday Lunch & Open House. The Holiday Lunch, provided by Joshua’s Catering from 11am – 3pm, includes: hot coffee or tea, soup of your choice*, sandwich of your choice*, and cookies - all for only $10!

Q: How close are the houses to each other?

A: 5 of the 6 historic houses are located relatively near each other in East Fairmount Park. Three of them can be easily accessed to each other on foot: Laurel Hill Mansion, Woodford Mansion, and Historic Strawberry Mansion. Please use sidewalks, crosswalks, and exercise caution at intersections as vehicles are unfortunately not always cognizant or respectful of pedestrians on park roadways.

Q: Will I have to wait outside?

A: On Special Event days, the check-in table is usually outside of the entry door in order to avoid congestion inside the house. But It is very unlikely that you’ll be outside for more than a few minutes as you initially check-in at each house. On all other days, you check-in inside the house. Remember, the PHLASH buses run about every 20 minutes, so we strongly recommend that you bundle up for the winter weather.

Q: Why are most of the houses offering tours of the first floor only?

A: Due to the volume of crowds served by a mainly volunteer staff, houses may limit tours to the first floor on Special Event Days and some regular holiday house tour days, we always recommend coming back to visit during the regular season to experience a fully guided house tour

Q: I didn’t get to see all of the houses in one day. Can I get a refund or use my All House Pass or use it on a different day?

A: No, our policy is that an all house pass is good for the date purchased. There were houses you didn’t get to see, we recommend purchasing a single entry to visit them. Please remember that the proceeds from ticket sales support the preservation and programming of the park’s historic houses.

PROGRAMMING

Q: What’s going on when?

Q: Are there busy/slow times?

A: Special Event Days always draw the biggest crowd. The houses tend to peak with visitors from 12 - 3 pm, so we recommend arriving first thing in the morning (10 am) if you’d like to avoid the crowd. Of course, the advantage of the house is that people are spread out among many rooms (and many houses), so our events rarely feel “overcrowded.” Weekdays are generally the slowest time and the best chance to get more time with a tour guide.

 

Q: Is the Ice Bar back this year?

A: There is no more Ice Bar this year due to logistical concerns.

Q: Is there a discount for seniors, military, and students?

A: While we offer this discount during the regular season, for the special holiday house tours, there is a flat single entry price of $8. The houses stewardship groups and the Fairmount Park Conservancy invest in the decorations and events and proceeds from the event support the preservation and programming of the historic houses. If you’d like to receive a discount we suggest purchasing on “All-house Pass” (a savings of at least $10!)

Q: How long do you think it takes to tour all 6 mansions?

A: The minimum amount of time most visitors spend at each house is 20 minutes. Guests wishing to tour every house should anticipate at least 2 hours of their time. Of course, we hope you stay longer!  

Q: Which houses are handicap accessible?

A: Currently the only house with full handicap accessibility (wheelchair ramp) is Cedar Grove (first floor only).
